Splyce Design

Founded in 2001 by Nigel Parrish, Splyce is a studio that executes contemporary projects of varying scale, scope and budgets - from new homes and renovations to custom furniture and landscaping. It is a small, process-intensive studio, working closely with clients and focused on creating thoughtful, creative and functional living spaces.

At the core of the studio's work is the belief that carefully designed objects and spaces can inspire, stimulate the senses and make a real difference in the quality of everyday life. The experiential aspects of architecture - both physical and aesthetic - are analyzed at every stage of the creative process. This approach results in designs that are refined in detail, characterized by a warm, welcoming feel, yet contemporary elegance, timelessness and functionality.

Drawing on both construction experience and architectural training, Splyce combines practicality with a poetic sensibility. They are fascinated by craftsmanship, the process of building, and the resources and costs involved in completing a project. Attention to detail - on every level - is evident in all of the studio's projects: from the conceptual layout of the building on the plot to the final solutions, selection of materials, finishes, furnishings and art. Each design decision is based on the individual context - location, plot conditions, budget and investor expectations - always placed above passing fashions.
