The University of Warsaw, in cooperation with the Warsaw Branch of SARP, has announced a competition for the development of an architectural concept along with land development for the Project entitled "Construction of a Sports and Recreation Center for teaching activities and construction of a student culture center at the Ochota Campus".

TheUniversity of Warsaw, in cooperation with the Warsaw Branch of SARP, has announced a competition for the development of an architectural and urban design concept, together with land development, for the Project entitled "Construction of a Sports and Recreation Center for the needs of teaching classes and the construction of a student culture center at the Ochota Campus."

purpose of

The purpose of the Competition is to obtain the best architectural, spatial and functional-utility concept for the building entitled "Construction of Sports and Recreation Center for the needs of didactic classes and construction of student culture center at the Ochota Campus in Warsaw, along with land development in the area necessary for the realization of the Investment.

The new building is to provide comfortable conditions for sports and cultural events. The building is to be constructed to an energy-efficient standard reducing the costs associated with its operation. Among other things, the new building is planned to include a modern swimming pool with an auditorium and a multipurpose sports hall with an auditorium, enabling the organization of competitions at the academic level. It is also planned to build
a full-size climbing wall, a room for combat sports including judo. Additional multi-purpose rooms are planned, with the possibility of using them for sports or cultural purposes. It is also planned to make the roof of the building available for recreational purposes. The new building and the development of the surrounding area will be free of architectural barriers, making the facility accessible to people with disabilities.

The competition is an implementation competition, one-stage

Works will be evaluated by the following criteria:

  1. Attractiveness and originality of the proposed architectural solutions.
  2. The quality of the proposed spatial and functional solutions of the buildings, together with the functional solution of the Project area.
  3. Solution of the communication service system.
  4. The applied pro-ecological and energy-saving solutions.
  5. Reality and economic optimization of the adopted solutions in relation to the cost of implementation of the Investment.

prizes

  • First Prize - PLN 60,000 gross and an invitation to negotiate a sole-source contract
    for the performance of services on the basis of the selected competition work
  • II Prize - PLN 55,000 gross
  • III Prize - PLN 35,000 gross
  • Two honorablementions

  • Announcement of competition results: February 20, 2024
