"Cross section cinema!" - exhibition at the Warsaw Architecture Pavilion

02 of March '20

This year marks exactly 90 years since the establishment of the oldest operating cinema in Warsaw - the Atlantic. The neighboring Warsaw Zodiak Architecture Pavilion will host an exhibition on the architecture of Warsaw's cinemas from March 14, titled. "Cinema section!". You are welcome!

What used to be the design of cinemas, and what does it look like now? Who designed them? What did they give to the city and residents? How did they adapt to the new reality or why did they not survive the test of time, socio-cultural, economic and technological changes?

In addition, in the program accompanying the exhibition, lectures on the history of the buildings, meetings around architecture and cinematography, tours, workshops for the youngest and educational activities for students are planned.

The exhibition is organized by the City of Warsaw in cooperation with the Warsaw branch of the Association of Polish Architects and the Andrzej Wajda Film Culture Center, among others.
