The historic railway station in Lesna (Lower Silesia Province) has undergone a spectacular metamorphosis. After years of oblivion, the building regained its former splendor and gained a new function. A key role in the renovation was played by the appropriately selected roofing: fiber-cement Cedral tiles, which made it possible to faithfully recreate the original appearance of the historic building, without sacrificing durability and modern technology.
The modernization, financed, among other things, by the government's Polski Ład program, included a thorough renovation of the body, interiors and architectural details, but it was the roof that became the showpiece of the project. Originally covered with natural slate, and in recent decades protected by a makeshift roofing felt, today it has gained elegant graphite Cedral tiles, laid in French covering.
The project required great precision and determination - from stratigraphic research, to analysis of archival photographs, to the choice of color details, such as the intense green of the woodwork and the dark maroon of the walls. The roof is the perfect complement to this challenging revitalization, highlighting the character of the building.
The renovation of the Forest Station demonstrates how modern materials, such as Cedral's fiber-cement tiles, can effectively support the preservation of architectural heritage. The facility has not only regained its identity, but has become a vibrant place again - open to residents and tourists, ready for the next chapters of its history.
