"The Silence of Things" - an exhibition of works by Janusz Osicki and Aleksandra Jozefow

01 of June '25

A conversation with oneself, the world, nature and the viewers. This is how Janusz Osicki, an outstanding artist and professor at the Faculty of Architecture at the Gdansk University of Technology, who is celebrating his 50th anniversary this year, defines painting. A selection of the painter's works will be on display from June 6 at Your Art Maison Gallery - a unique place on the map of Warsaw that combines contemporary art with modern design. Allcon is a patron of the exhibition.

Janusz Osicki was born in 1949 in Gdynia. He graduated from the Faculty of Painting at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk in the studios of Prof. Kazimierz Ostrowski and Prof. Kazimierz Śramkiewicz. For 40 years he has been educating generations of architects - first in the Department of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, and then in the Department of Visual Arts at the Faculty of Architecture at the Gdansk University of Technology. He holds a doctorate in art and the position of associate professor at this university.

The artist has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. His work has been described in 45 publications and catalogs. Janusz Osicki's works are in the collections of the Gdynia City Museum and the National Museum in Gdansk. In 2025 he was honored with the Artistic Award of the President of the City of Gdynia - Galion of Gdynia for lifetime achievement.

Professor Osicki's paintings combine different styles, making them unique and timeless works. His works can be compared to notes from life - they are seemingly sketches, genre scenes or daydreams. Their deeper meaning is hidden in successive layers - at the level of color, multidimensionality and subtlety.

Warsaw's Your Art Maison Gallery will feature the professor's works selected by the artist himself and the gallery's owner, Joanna Polus - an experienced art advisor, graduate of the Graphic Design Department and Sotheby's Institute in London. She has worked with architects, investors and collectors for years, advising on the selection of artworks, as well as on building artistic narratives (art stories) and coherent, valuable collections.

YAM regularly organizes exhibitions of Polish and European artists. The new space in Warsaw is dedicated mainly to bespoke art, i.e. art created with individual preferences in mind and in close dialogue with the space. It is a combination of a gallery with a studio for collaboration with architects and designers, along with professional advice for collectors and investors.

This exhibition is not looking for applause. "The Quietness of Things" is an encounter with art that pays homage to the non-obviousness of the first glance, urges you to stop and contemplate, to look at the multidimensionality of the layers that emerge what is quiet and between the lines. In the works of Professor Janusz Osicki, the most happens precisely in what is barely graspable. The meaning often does not lie on top. One must be able to see it under the layers.

- Joanna Polus announces.

The exhibition is held thanks to the cooperation between Your Art Maison Gallery and Allcon, a Gdynia-based company, which is currently developing the most spectacular seaside investment - SKYCITY Gdynia.

We are very pleased that Professor Janusz Osicki, a wonderful artist from Gdynia, is gaining more and more recognition, reaching art enthusiasts and investors. The professor's paintings are displayed in the lobby of Allcon's headquarters and in the Młyny Gdańskie investment. Collecting works of art, as well as the best addresses on the real estate market, is investing in unique and timeless goods, which only gain in value with the passage of time

- says Marta Drozd-Piekarska, director of marketing and sales at Allcon.

Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to see the work of Aleksandra Jozef, a contemporary artist and sculptor. In her work, she interprets space in a modern, yet insightful and thoughtful way. She uses raw, durable materials such as concrete, metal, glass, classic marble or granite, as well as modern technologies, including CNC 3D, augmented reality (AR), 3D printing and scanners. She is passionate about working on a large scale, realizing monumental forms and spatial installations. Aleksandra Jozefow works both in the area of high art (gallery art) and commercial projects - her works will be exhibited in Allcon's seaside investments - Archipelag Leba and SEAHall in Gdansk.

The "Silence of Things" exhibition will be on view until June 30. Visitors can visit the gallery by appointment by phone at +48 507 035 840.
