Safe public space in times of pandemic. CITYandREST competition results

03 of November '20

The prizes in the competition for architects, landscape architects and designers "CITYandREST MUNICIPAL SAFE LEisure ZONE" have been awarded! The task of the competition was to develop a concept for a public space that will create safe conditions for living and leisure in the city, as well as build social relations at a time when it is necessary to keep the right distance between people.

Almost a hundred projects were submitted to the competition organized by Polbruk, of which the jury awarded four works and honored four others. In all the projects, in accordance with the competition, Polbruk products from the Style, Classics and Architecture lines were used as one of the main design elements.

The competition, whose task was to propose a new quality of safe space, is an extremely important activity in the current times. This is evidenced by the number of submitted competition entries. In public space, the most important thing is man and his needs. Recent months have shown that real contact with another human being is extremely important. Safe rest areas in cities are a remedy for the need to limit social contact," says Wojciech Średniawa, one of the competition jurors and Chief Designer at Polbruk.
