For several years, Architektura&Biznes has been creating a database of architectural competitions in Poland, which collects information about current competitions, allows the presentation of competition works and builds their archive. That's why every month we publish #CompetitionsReview, a series in which we will present recently announced and decided design competitions.
The new cycle will be formed by two parts - collections of competitions published and decided in a given month. We present the second installment of the series, in which we collect the results and announcements of competitions from February 2024.

Competition to develop a concept for a sports and recreation center on the Ochota campus in Warsaw
Competition organized by SARP
SARP o. Warsaw has announced the results of the competition organized together with the University of Warsaw. The aim of the competition was to obtain the best architectural, spatial and functional-utility concept for the building of the Sports and Recreation Center for teaching activities and the construction of a student culture center on the Ochota Campus in Warsaw, together with land development in the area necessary for the realization of the Investment.
The competition was won by the consortium of Bureau Babyn Michałowski and Biuro Projektów Lewicki Łatak. Three prizes and two honorable mentions were awarded.

Student architectural competition "FREE BOGDANKA".
Thecompetition addressed to students was organized by SARP Poznań Branch, Poznań International Fair, Wielkopolska Regional Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland within the BUDMA 2024 fair. The subject of the competition was to develop a concept for the development of a fragment of the area of the western green wedge in the area between Lake Rusałka and Sołacki Park in Poznań.
The jury awarded three first prizes(ex aequo), two honorable mentions(ex aequo) and one honorable mention.

"Coworking space" competition
At the beginning of February, a competition organized by the Polish Lighting Industry Association was settled. The competition task was to design a coworking space, a place that would provide users with both privacy and a chance to maintain eye contact with other employees. The competition was aimed at young artists.
The jury awarded first and second prizes and two honorable mentions.

Student competition for the design of the Museum of Polish Sailing in Władysławowo
An internal student competition for the design of a branch of the National Maritime Museum - the Museum of Polish Sailing in Władysławowo - was settled in February 2024. The competition was organized by the Faculty of Architecture of PG together with the National Maritime Museum in Gdansk and the Municipality of Wladyslawowo. First, second and third prizes were awarded.

competition for a universal architectural concept for the interior arrangement of the library area for children
The competition was held in cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Technology and was aimed at its students. The event was held under the patronage of the Association of Interior Architects. The object of the competition was to develop a universal architectural concept for the interior arrangement of the library area for children with flexible furniture solutions.
The competition jury awarded First Prize and honorable mention.

XIV edition of the SARP Krakow Creative Scholarship named after Prof. Bohdan Lisowski
The competition organized by SARP Krakow for the scholarship is aimed at male and female studentsof the Faculties of Architecture of Krakow universities who have completed their bachelor's degree and are beginning their master's studies (second degree studies).
Registration deadline: until October 30, 2024 at 2 pm
Award: Scholarship, in the amount of PLN 8100 gross (PLN 900.00 per month gross).

UIA 2030 Award. II cycle of the international competition
The International Union of Architects UIA, in cooperation with UN-Habitat, is organizing the second cycle of the UIA 2030 Award competition. The award is given biennially and promotes the work of architects contributing to the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Accessibility Leader 2024 competition
The Association of the Friends of Integration and the Society of Polish Town Planners are organizing for the ninth time the Architectural and Urban Design Competition Leader of Accessibility 2024. The aim of the competition is to promote the idea of universal design and reward urban and architectural solutions for adapting buildings and spaces to the needs of people with disabilities.
Deadline for submission of works: until March 18, 2024.
Award: a statuette and diploma received from the President of the Republic of Poland

International student competition "Concept of development of the area near the Ostrogski-Lubomirski Castle in Dubna (Ukraine)".
The competition is organized by the Hugo Kołłątaj Agricultural University in Cracow, the National University of Water Management and Natural Resources Management in Rivne (Ukraine), and the State Historical and Cultural Reserve in Dubna . The contest is a one-stage competition for male and female students. Each person, or team, can submit one competition entry.
Deadline for submission of works: until April 30, 2024.

Contest "Paradise Garden in Siemianowice Slaskie" for the development of a concept for the land located on Dworska Street in Siemianowice Slaskie.
The purpose of the competition for the development of the area located on Dworska Street in Siemianowice Slaskie is to select the most interesting works that would depict the potential of this area as an urban participatory garden. The competition is a one-stage event and is aimed at male and female students in the 4th or 5th year of a unified master's degree program, 1st or 2nd year of a master's degree program and the last semester of an engineering degree program in architecture, architecture and urban planning, landscape architecture, spatial management or urban planning.
