We are increasingly talking about digital security, advanced video or CCTV monitoring and alarm systems, connected remotely to an app and our phone. Few of us realize, however, that the basic and still one of the most effective site security measures is not only proper signage, but also reinforced fencing with a solid lock.
Polish industry studies point to significant challenges in protecting property on construction sites. Since 2021, when 225,000 houses and apartments were completed, there has been an increase in theft at construction sites. High-value materials such as rebar, electrical wiring and roof tiles, but also window and door woodwork, have been the most frequently stolen. In Germany, on the other hand, where the number of photovoltaic investments is increasing year after year, a big problem is noticeable in terms of destruction and burglary of PV ( photovoltaics) farm sites. The prey of thieves are solar modules and panels, rectifiers, inverters, cables and even batteries. Recently, there was a high-profile crime in the municipality of Fredenbeck in Lower Saxony, where perpetrators stole as much as 10,000 meters of cables and harnesses, and the operation of the plant was halted for days. As the developer estimated, one day brought losses of more than 100,000 euros.

Securing investment facilities today plays an extremely important role in protecting infrastructure, data and material resources. Also important are regulations that make it clear that site enclosure is required as early as the construction stage; individual provisions in investment contracts are also becoming more readily used. For example, a clause is often used that says that only employees are allowed on the construction site, and unauthorized persons are not allowed to enter the site. Also, insurance companies in most cases obligatorily require that the investment be secured with a functional fence. Temporary fences with access control elements, such as our V-King or Traffic high-speed gates or sliding gates, are often used at this stage. Once construction is complete, such products can be quickly transported to the next construction site. We see that many companies and investors are becoming more and more conscious about securing the site and installing even a standard, simple solution such as a fence made of lattice panels, thereby increasing the security of the investment. In 2025, in order to cope with increasingly complex and diverse threats, it is certainly worth looking at monitoring solutions and alarm systems as well

He also lists the most important trends that will dominate the security market:
Integration of artificial intelligence (AI) systems
AI is revolutionizing the way we monitor and respond to threats. In 2025, security systems equipped with machine learning algorithms will be able to automatically analyze data from cameras, sensors and other devices - for example, on specific days or at the right time of day and night. AI will allow early detection of suspicious activity, such as unauthorized entry or unusual behavior on the premises.
Biometrics and behavioral identification within CCTV
The rise in popularity of biometric solutions, including facial recognition, iris recognition and gait analysis, is changing the standards for identity verification. In 2025, these systems will be even more precise and more widely used to ensure access only to authorized individuals. Developed CCTV and CCTV camera technology will serve this purpose.
Next-generation perimeter security
Investment areas require effective physical perimeter protection. In 2025, however, remote access to enter the site, such as by opening the entrance gate from an app or closing the blinds at the appropriate time of day, will be of great importance. Modern solutions will make it possible to grant access to other people, investors or subcontractors, without the need for, for example, a site manager or site security officer to appear on site. An example is the Polish WIŚNIOWSKI Connected solution, which premiered in 2024.

Drones and patrol robots
Automation of physical security processes will be the next step in securing investment sites in 2025. Drones equipped with thermal imaging cameras and motion sensors are already patrolling vast areas, and ground robots are beginning to appear at the most valuable investments, such as solar parks. Such solutions will provide constant surveillance without the need for large numbers of personnel.
Reinforcement of perimeter protection materials
Fence systems are effective when they are difficult to penetrate and are reinforced. The longer they are durable and resistant to weather or damage, the longer they will perform their function. So it's worth looking for professional fences that are hot-dip galvanized and powder-coated, ones that won't need to be replaced after a few years, an example being VEGA 2D and 3D lattice panels.
Creating and welding a fence yourself at home (which was popular in Europe just a few years ago) is now a thing of the past. Such fences quickly deteriorated. Nowadays, one of the most important features of such products is their durability for years, so it is worth choosing models with extended warranties (for example, with 10-year corrosion protection) and individual customer requirements "tailor made offer". In addition, the completeness of the offer from one manufacturer, as well as the ability to tailor the offer to the requirements of the site allows you to streamline the implementation of the installation of the fence

Cooperation with smart cities (within smart cities)
The security of investment sites will increasingly be integrated into the infrastructure of smart cities. Monitoring, traffic management and emergency communication systems will work together, allowing for faster emergency response and better security planning. The number of city cameras will also increase, improving the security of urban areas.
Design consistent with overall facilities
2025 brings us even closer to a comprehensive approach to site aesthetics. It used to be that investment projects were fenced off with some of the cheaper woven nets rolled out around the perimeter of the plot. Today, already at the planning stage, investors choose fences that can make the whole investment more attractive, also becoming a showpiece of the site. Fencing already at the stage of construction is intended not only to secure the site, but to increase the prestige of the location and emphasize the character of the building under construction. As the Polish leader in fencing production points out, in 2025 we will be more and more likely to choose, for example, minimalist, palisade fences, and among them the latest WIŚNIOWSKI INFINITY fencing collection. The fence literally "grows" out of the ground, without posts, joints or binders. All this thanks to a special design - without vertical mounting posts. Instead, you can use a modern mounting to the ground, a concrete foundation or a version to be buried in the ground. The spans can be up to 2 meters high.

The year 2025 will bring a significant modernization of security systems for investment facilities. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, biometrics and drones will shape the future of site security. With an integrated approach and innovative solutions, we can expect higher levels of security and efficiency in risk management.
