Interiors in your style - 3 universal trends you can't miss

24 of June '22

What trends dominate interior design in 2022? On top are timelessness, natural materials, craftsmanship, a return to the past, but on new terms. We have selected 3 interior trends that you should definitely pay attention to! Natural wood floors play a huge role in each of them !

Art déco - a return to the past
with a modern twist

One of the trends that is winning the hearts of investors and interior designers is the style of the interwar years. Art déco was born in the 1920s in France. It ruled in Europe and the United States also in the 1930s and even in the 1940s. Luxurious, slightly avant-garde interiors straight from the palaces of The Great Gatsby or the mansions of Howard Huges (famous from the film "Aviator") combine tradition and modernity into an exceptionally sophisticated whole.

Art déco interiors are luxurious and exclusive in every way. First of all, because they do not tolerate imitation. If wood - then natural, in the form of oak flooring. If marble - it's real. Plus brass and gold, high-quality fabrics, spectacular, somewhat theatrical lighting.

Although art déco drew heavily on classical patterns, valued harmony, symmetry and orderliness, it was not (and is not) a museum trend. It has no shortage of bold ideas and avant-garde designs - primarily geometric. Works of art - sculptures, paintings, posters and prints - play a big role. After all, this was a time when many prominent Polish artists created, including Tamara Lempicka and Zofia Stryjeńska.

What colors and patterns does art déco "like" in today's form? Dark and saturated - grays, navy blues, emerald greens, anthracites. Elegant earthy colors will also be a good choice - beiges, creams, taupe or greige, a color that combines beige with gray. You can not miss golden accents, for example, in the form of ornaments on furniture and wallpaper.

Modern classic - elegance and glamour of the old days in a subtle way

The hearts of Polish builders have recently been won over by themodern classic trend, a subtler and more subdued successor to glamour. Modern classic is an eclectic style. It combines inspirations taken from Parisian and Viennese townhouses - that is, high ceilings, stuccoed ceilings, decorative fireplace cornices and the obligatory oak parquet laid in a French herringbone pattern.

There are also references to the Hamptons style - earthy colors and natural materials in a casual, somewhat beach-like, but very elegant way. From the glamour style modern classic draws mirrored surfaces, the shine of gold and brass, crystal accessories and glass, for example, in the form of glass lamp shades or glass flower vases.

The key word with the modern classic style, however, is balance. It can be seen in the harmony between the use of glossy and matte surfaces, the penchant for symmetry and the combination of classic furniture (even antiques) with modern custom-made furniture built-ins. There is no room for palace splendor - the whole arrangement is elegant, but rather economical in form.

What color scheme goes well with modern classic? Oak wood in its natural but subtle form. Shades of white and off white, such as cream, vanilla, almond, ivory. Earthy colors - cinnamon, sand and écru. Subtle pastels, such as powder or Indian pink. Strong and saturated colors like navy blue and emerald green, as well as lighter and dark grays.

What kind of floorboard to choose for modern classic style?

Pay attention first to the type of finish - a good idea is a super matte lacquer, which looks like a natural oiled floor. The modern classic style will also look good with oak floors with a light sheen.

The class of flooring recommended for this style is primarily Rustical Premium, which combines elegance with the beauty of a natural oak grain. If you're looking for a more subdued effect, go for a floor in the Natur class.

Natural minimalism and japanese

One of the interior design trends that is definitely worth considering now is also minimalism in a new, cozy way. Minimalism has always had its supporters, although until now it has been associated with interiors that are cool, spare in form, almost sterile. In the new version, minimalism has gained a warm face, close to nature.

Thus, one of the fashionable proposals has become japandi style, a combination of Scandinavian simplicity and coziness with harmony typical of Japan and a limited color palette. Such interiors are decorated with natural materials - primarily wood and stone. The color scheme is light wood, white, gray and possibly black accents.

Decorating interiors under the sign of total look, that is, for example, completely beige, is also a good track. Mild earth colors are accompanied by few pieces of furniture, very carefully selected accessories, including works of art, ceramics.

Floors in this edition must be as natural as possible - the right direction is oiled floors, in colors reflecting real oak wood, with slightly visible knots or grain(Rustical Premium class) or uniform(Natur class).
