Jacek Maleszka - an architect, social activist and long-time deputy of the Municipal Conservator of Monuments in Poznań - has been appointed to the post of Wielkopolska Regional Conservator of Monuments. He will thus replace Jolanta Goszczyńska, who has held the position since 2014.
Jacek Maleszka was born in 1987 in Poznań. He has always been connected with architecture - his father, Andrzej Maciej Maleszka, was a respected Poznań architect, author of, among other things, many school, sports and residential buildings.
Jacek Maleszka followed in his footsteps - he graduated in architecture and urban planning from the Faculty of Architecture at the Poznan University of Technology, and in law from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. He combined his work as an architect with the management of the foundation Na Duża Skala acting for the benefit of students and graduates of design faculties, and for many years he was also a councillor of the Stare Miasto Housing Estate Council in Poznań.
After more than a decade of gaining professional experience at Studio M, in 2020 he began working as a deputy to the Municipal Conservator of Monuments in Poznan, where he was responsible for, among other things, conservation grants, urban planning, the cultural park, advertising and new significant investments in the conservation area.
On October 3, 2025, he was appointed Wielkopolska Regional Conservator of Monuments, a position he will hold from today - October 27, 2025. Among his duties will be the implementation of the national program for the protection and care of monuments, drawing up financing plans for the protection of monuments, maintaining the register and provincial records of monuments, as well as supervising the correctness of conservation, architectural research, conservation, restoration, construction works and other activities at monuments, and archaeological research.
