Online knowledge base from Armstrong

25 of April '20

Armstrong, one of the largest manufacturers of acoustic suspended ceilings, has launched a knowledge base on interior acoustics and technical aspects of ceiling installation. The platform, www.tech-armstrong.com.pl, was created to support architects, designers and construction teams while working from home. It contains technical information, photos of reference objects, installation videos and all kinds of materials to help interior design specialists.

The lack of face-to-face meetings has forced many companies to work through online systems and platforms. Armstrong, in order to help designers and installation teams, has launched a special website www.tech-armstrong.com.pl where all the helpful materials and hints necessary for planning room acoustics are gathered.

Acoustic calculator

First of all, there is an interactive calculator developed by Armstrong experts in cooperation with acoustic engineering practitioners. The tool allows you to perform calculations and verify the compliance of the acoustic environment of the designed interiors with the requirements of PN-B-02151-4 "Building acoustics. Protection against noise in buildings. Part 4: Requirements for reverberant conditions and speech intelligibility in rooms and guidelines for conducting tests".

In the calculator, after selecting the type of room function - such as an office, lecture hall, corridor or room in a medical facility - the tool determines the requirements of the reverberation standard assigned to it, operating on the appropriate parameters such as reverberation time (T), speech intelligibility index (STI) or acoustic absorption (A) of the materials used for interior design.

Installation animations and gallery of reference projects

Instructional animations for the installation of suspended ceilings have also been gathered in one place. Construction crews can see step-by-step how to install the ceiling system: from the moment the room is divided, through the installation of slings and wall angles, to the removal of the panels to access the space above the ceiling.

In turn, an interactive gallery allows users to view dozens of reference buildings completed in Poland - offices, hotels, retail, educational and medical facilities, as well as railway stations and airports. A user seeking knowledge can filter the presented solutions through detailed settings - city, property segment, zone in the building, type of ceiling panel (metal, wood, mineral ceiling) or type of modular ceiling grid profiles.

Knowledge base and tests

The new interactive knowledge platform is aimed mainly at the contractor industry and distribution company consultants. It contains presentations, files, technical descriptions, explanations of legal complexities and a database of quizzes, which on the one hand allows you to test your knowledge yourself, and on the other hand prepares the user to answer frequent customer questions in a fun and simple way.

Complementing the materials is, of course, our knowledge, experience and the opportunity to talk to Armstrong experts. Already, looking at the interest in the new platform, we can see that the change in working model from office to home office is not an obstacle. When agreeing on details, users are more willing to call our experts than before," says architect Anna Baczkowska, who at Armstrong holds the position of Technical Manager and Room Acoustics Expert.
