Swietokrzyska Street in a new way. Competition for urban and architectural design in Nowa Slupia

We invite you to participate in the competition for the development of an urban-architectural concept for Swietokrzyska Street in the city and municipality of Nowa Slupia, organized by the Kielce branch of the Association of Polish Architects.

The competition is organized in the form of a one-stage, open architectural, implementation competition, in which participants submit their works together with the required statements. The idea of the competition is to creatively solve the problem of the current way of developing the area of Swietokrzyska Street, harmoniously fitting into the existing historic surroundings on an urban and architectural scale, as well as giving it new, high aesthetic and functional values. The main modification of the street is to change its character to the form of a promenade, also preserving the function of vehicular traffic.

The purpose of the competition is to select an urban-architectural concept that is the best in terms of functionality, use and composition, taking into account the context of the existing development of the area and its surroundings of Swietokrzyska Street in the Municipality of Nowa Slupia.

Submitted projects should include:

  • Reconstruction and modernization of Swietokrzyska Street in connection with the project "Revitalization of Nowa Slupia" included in the
    Regional Operational Program of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship 2014-2020,
  • supporting the physical, economic and socialrevitalization of poor communities in urban and rural areas.

Competition entries will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • attractiveness of the adopted urban and architectural solutions of the area, including its visual and
    usability,
  • correctness of the adopted spatial solutions of land development,
  • economic value from the point of view of implementation and long-term exploitation of the area covered by the subject of the competition.

The evaluation of the submitted works will be made by a jury consisting of:

  • Janusz Janik - deputy of the competition court, SARP Kielce,
  • Natalia Głowacka - organizational secretary of the competition, SARP Kielce.

awards and competition calendar

The competition provides for the awarding of three main prizes and two honorable mentions: 1st prize in the amount of PLN 15,000 and an invitation to negotiate a free-hand order, 2nd prize in the amount of PLN 8,000, 3rd prize in the amount of PLN 5,000, honorable mention in the amount of PLN 1,000 each.

  • applications for admission to the competition: until September 23 this year.
  • answers to questions related to the competition: until September 30 this year.
  • submission of competition works: until October 26 this year.
  • settlement of the competition: November 5 this year.
