Musical Theatre in Poznan and Dekpol Construction join forces in the project "Give the Young Theatre"

01 of May '26

More than 300 young people from the Wielkopolska region with difficult access to culture will attend performances of the musical "Dear Evan Hansen" in May. This is a joint initiative of the Musical Theater in Poznan and Dekpol Construction.

The "Podaruj Młodym Teatr" project responds to the growing need to provide young people with real opportunities for contact with culture - not only as a form of entertainment, but also as a space for experiencing emotions, building sensitivity and engaging in important conversations.

From investment cooperation to social initiative

Cooperation on the "Podaruj Młodym Teatr" initiative has its origins in the relationship that brought together the Musical Theater in Poznan and Dekpol Construction in the construction of the theater's new headquarters in downtown Poznan. As the general contractor for this investment, Dekpol Budownictwo decided to expand its cooperation with the Theater to include a social dimension, engaging in an initiative that supports the development of the young and broadens access to valuable experiences through culture. These activities were aimed at young people who have limited access to culture on a daily basis.

We believe that corporate responsibility goes far beyond professional investment execution. We engage in projects that have a real impact on the lives of people, especially the younger generations. The "Podaruj Młodym Teatr" initiative provides not only access to culture, but also a space to talk about important and often difficult topics, such as loneliness or so-called "hejt". We are happy to be the first partner to support a project that carries such important values

- says Mariusz Niewiadomski, president of Dekpol Budownictwo.

A show that speaks the language of the young

It was no coincidence that the choice fell on the musical "Dear Evan Hansen" (directed by Pawel Szkotak). It's a moving play about loneliness, the need for acceptance and the search for one's own identity in the world of young people, The show also tackles the topics of teenage mental health, social anxiety, depression and social media pressures, while carrying an important message of closeness and support: #youarenotalone. The play has received the patronage of the Children's Ombudsman, further emphasizing its educational and social importance.

A project with potential for the future

The initiative was met with great interest and openness on the part of schools and institutions, which enthusiastically accepted the invitation to participate in the performances. This is a clear signal that activities that facilitate youth contact with culture respond to real and important needs. Musical Theater in Poznan and Dekpol Construction do not exclude the continuation of the "Podaruj Młodym Teatr" project. In the future, the initiative may also inspire other partners to undertake similar activities.

ESG in practice - experienced partners

Dekpol Construction, as the general contractor and partner of the initiative, is actively involved in activities supporting children and young people, focusing on their development and mental well-being. In recent years, the company has participated, among other things, in financing a grant program for children in Brest Kujawski, supported sports initiatives, and this year was a partner in the social conference in Gdansk "From small steps to strong psyche", dedicated to the mental health of the youngest.

For years, Musical Theater in Poznań has been developing its offer of school performances, emphasizing the role of theater education as an important part of its mission and a tool to help young people better understand themselves and others.
