25 of May '20

Who is a tourist in Krakow? People who live here walk through familiar squares and streets every day, sometimes without giving a second thought to the city around them. What if they stopped for a moment and looked around? The new project "Be a tourist in your city - visit Krakow" is intended to encourage Krakow residents to help rebuild local tourism.

The City of Krakow is launching an information and socialcampaign to support the tourism market in the capital of Malopolska. BE A TOURIST IN YOUR CITY - VISIT KRAKOW is a social campaign aimed at all residents of Krakow, with the main goal of supporting local entrepreneurs.

Krakow has for years been the most recognizable Polish city brand in the world, and research says that about 10% of Krakow residents base their business on tourism and related services. That is why it is so important for Krakow to gradually and prudently rebuild the tourism market ," says Krakow Mayor Jacek Majchrowski.

In addition to government programs that will be or are already being implemented, but also its own programs, such as the "Pause Program" and "Resilient Culture," the City of Krakow will support the activities of local entrepreneurs. However, to be able to rebuild the tourism market in Krakow, the City is focusing on a new concept, changing the thinking about who a tourist in Krakow is.

be a tourist in your city - help locally

The result of the new concept is an information and social campaign, the main slogan of which is - BE A TOURIST IN YOUR CITY - TOUCH KRAKOW, and it will be aimed mainly at the local community. Every resident of Krakow will be able to rediscover the beauty of their city and become a local tourist. The campaign will be operated by the Krakow Festival Office in cooperation with the Department of Tourism, the Department of Social Communication and the Department of Culture and National Heritage. The main objective of the planned activities is to stimulate the local economy and involve the residents of Krakow in the process of restoring the city's reputation as the tourist capital of Poland.

Among other things, the campaign will include three forms of activities. These will include open events, workshops and mutual sharing of photos and videos.

All entrepreneurs institutions, companies, activists, artists and residents of Krakow in general, who are interested in cooperating within the framework of this social campaign, are invited to contact the Krakow Festival Office, which will be the operator of the whole action, starting April 30, 2020.
