Brass - the ephemeral nature of wind captured for the long term

21 of May '21

The Brass collection attracts attention with its gentleness and harmonious color palette, which calms you down and allows you to get away from an excess of stimuli. It is a proposal for an interior in the form of an elegant classic, in natural earth colors and with a discreet decorative motif.

Brass stands out from other Tubądzin Ceramics novelties in 30×75 cm format. We won't find here intense colors, fancy decorations or contrasting combinations. Instead, in this proposal we will discover what is fleeting and elusive, what can only be felt - the lightness of air and the freedom brought by pure expression of movement. The gentleness of the Brass collection manifests itself in natural shades of white, gray and olive color, against which a subtle pattern is drawn, inspired by the movement of the air and the changeability of the wind. It is a reflection of a moment, a moment - often unnoticed - that could exist for a long time thanks to this collection.

In creating the Brass collection, I wanted to depict the movement of air. In addition to the sheer lightness and freedom with which I associate this element, it was important to me to convey the feeling of calm that comes from contact with nature. I have experienced it many times, strolling among the Baltic dunes and watching the tall grasses swaying in the wind and bending in the sea breeze. I am inspired by things that can be felt, not necessarily seen. We can't see the wind directly, we can only observe the effects of it. For me, movement is its simplest and most beautiful definition - free dance and unplanned pure expression reflect the perfection of nature, the perfection that comes from chance. I decided to show this in the Brass collection," says Anna Janik-Cieśla, author of the collection.

Wanting to convey the impression of lightness on a static ceramic tile, the designer decided on a discreet, sublime design - even, delicate scratches and directional abrasions subtly suggest dynamics and movement. The ephemerality of the wind has been captured in the glossy glass décor. The pattern embedded in the glass is a capture of changing nature, a caught moment - a moment that lasts longer. The shimmering decorations beautifully reflect the light, add spaciousness and brighten the interior. They perfectly harmonize with the base tiles, highlighting their softness and subduing, and creating a unique impression in the reflections of the glass.

The Brass collection will be perfect for classic and elegant interiors, in arrangements that are both cozy and close to humanity. Olive-colored tiles are good to match with wooden furniture and accessories in shades of brown, copper or green. Deciding on a white-gray composition, in turn, it's worth introducing some stronger decorative accents - a modern lamp or a black mirror frame will create a counterbalance to the light tones of the tiles.

The collection includes three wall tiles - Brass White, Olive and Grey - measuring 748 x 298 mm, 10 mm thick and with a gloss finish (price 129.89 PLN/m²). Their color counterparts are square-shaped stoneware tiles 598×598 mm and 11 mm thick (price PLN 136.90/m²). They are characterized by a lappato finish - a combination of matte and polished in one. A unique decoration of the collection are wall decors embedded in glass - Brass Olive and Grey (price 129.89 PLN/unit), as well as a delicate wall decoration Brass White MIX, consisting of small tiles of 148×148 mm (12.18 PLN/unit). The whole is complemented by glass wall moldings in olive and light gray (PLN 26.81/unit).
