SARP Honorary Award 2025
The Honorary Award of the Association of Polish Architects is the most important award in the field of architecture in Poland. Awarded since 1966, it recognizes a lifetime of work, social attitudes and contributions to the development of Polish architecture. This year's winners of the award are the team - Marek Kozień, Magdalena Kozień-Woźniak and Katarzyna Kozień-Kornecka - forming the Kozień Architekci studio.
The decision was made by the SARP Honorary Award Chapter, chaired by Marek Chrobak, president of the SARP General Assembly, which included the winners: Marek Dunikowski (SARP Krakow Branch, HN 2004), Ewa Kuryłowicz (SARP Warsaw Branch, HN 2021), Przemo Łukasik (SARP Katowice Branch, HN 2024), Bolesław Stelmach (SARP Warsaw Branch, HN 2010), was announced on November 12 this year. What was appreciated in the activities of Krakow architects?
The award was given primarily for outstanding architectural work, seen against the background of many years of development of this work in an unusual configuration: family, professional, scientific and environmental. Factors that in many other cases could block the development of individual members of the family team, in this case proved to be cementing, inspiring, building quality seen in more and more mature and beautiful solutions. The didactic achievements measured by the procession of names educated under the guidance of teachers from the Kozien family; the scientific achievements branded with this name, form the background for understanding the essence of the architecture created by this team: calm, elegant, and when necessary - poignant; refined in detail, harmonious in the cityscape and in the natural environment. The attitude of the laureates, their camaraderie, modesty, not looking for applause and always visible efforts to achieve the best results measured by uncompromising openness and courage, also deserve great praise. This year's winners are true role models for younger generations of representatives of our profession and association
- reads the justification for the award.
