18 of October '23

Expansion of the HeartFelt® Origami range provides aesthetic versatility and acoustical excellence for ceiling solutions.

Hunter Douglas Architectural, a leader in innovative architectural solutions, is proud to announce the expansion of the HeartFelt® Origami product category with the addition of two unique shapes, Weave and Curve. Drawing on the success of the existing Pyramid shape, the newly added shapes enrich the design potential and acoustic performance of ceiling systems, enabling architects and designers to transform spaces with unparalleled elegance and functionality.

The original HeartFelt® Origami Pyramid, known for its distinctive pyramid-like edges, has already won praise from architects around the world. By utilizing the play of light and shadow, this distinct shape creates unique visual effects while providing excellent sound attenuation. The Pyramid shape, available in 600×600 mm sizes, has become a hallmark of architectural innovation and superior acoustic performance.

HeartFelt® Origami Curve

The new HeartFelt® Origami Cur ve collection brings a delicate and sophisticated touch to interiors. Using two new shapes S-Curve and A- Curve, you can create symmetrical and asymmetrical compositions respectively, both variants are available in panel size 600×600 mm. These extremely elegant panels not only contribute to the creation of a warm and pleasant atmosphere, but also feature excellent natural sound absorption due to the inherent properties of felt.

The Weave collection includes: Weave 3 with 3 strips of 200 mm width; Weave 4 with 4 strips of 150 mm width; Weave 5 with5 strips of 120 mm width; and Weave 6 with 6 strips of 100 mm width, all 600 mm long.

Toos Stants, sustainable design engineer at Hunter Douglas Architectural, highlights the unique advantages of the new HeartFelt® Origami shapes:

With the new Weave and Curve shapes, our goal was to further leverage the flexibility of the felt material while providing a different look. Architects and designers can now refine their designs, seamlessly combining aesthetics with acoustic comfort, and create even more versatile and captivating spaces.

Outstanding acoustic performance

The HeartFelt® Origami ceiling system has everything it takes to enhance a wide range of building spaces and make them "sound friendly." Tests prove that with the closed ceiling system in Pyramid and Curve shapes, the sound absorption coefficient αw reaches values of 0.75 to 0.80. The αw coefficient for Weave shapes ranges from 0.50 to 0.70. Thanks to the strong acoustic properties, resonance and noise, especially in crowded offices, public buildings or other rooms, are significantly reduced. HeartFelt® Origami is available in five shades of gray, from white to black, as well as five shades of earth colors.

Japanese folding technique

The development of HeartFelt® Origami was born out of extensive research into the original Japanese origami folding technique. This practical folding method gives materials rigidity without the need for additional components. The installation process is streamlined because the panels and profiles are merely clipped to the support rails with clips. The simplicity of assembly allows for easy removal and dismantling, contributing to a ceiling system that follows the principles of sustainable construction.
