Masters of Architecture - Dietmar Eberle in Katowice.

03 of February '20

The first lecture in this year's Masters of Architecture series will be given by Dietmar Eberle, an Austrian architect who heads the internationally recognized Baumschlager Eberle Architekten studio. The architect will talk about his search for poetry in architecture and his quest for maximum simplicity and timelessness on February 6 in Katowice.

The office's architecture is characterized by both excellent analysis of local conditions and user needs, and uncompromising minimalist form. The main design idea of the studio is always to find a solution that meets the requirements of the present and the future. As a result, Austrian designers create sustainable buildings, not only in terms of energy efficiency or environmental considerations, but also taking into account cultural, social and aesthetic aspects.

Dietmar Eberle's design methodology puts transparency in the design process first - all solutions must be logical and easy to understand. Constant analysis of information leads to the development of optimal design techniques and, consequently, an adequate building form. An example of this architect's approach is the office building in Lustenau, which houses the studio's headquarters. This building won the Grand Prize in the international Wienerberger Brick Award competition in 2016.

In the work of the Baumschlager Eberle studio, the boundaries between architecture and poetry are blurred. It is architecture itself that becomes poetry - the poetry of form, materials, light and all those aspects that people experience with their senses. In his lecture, Dietmar Eberle will talk about the search for poetry in architecture and his quest for maximum simplicity and timelessness.

The lecture will be held on February 6 at 5:00 pm at the International Congress Center in Katowice. The meeting is organized in cooperation with the 4 Design Days trade fair, and in order to attend, you must register for the entire event. Registration is available here.
