One of them is Piero Lissoni, a multidisciplinary Italian architect and designer. His latest seating system Dock for the brand is a design that can be maximally personalized and modified with the passing of time luxurious in the modern sense of the word. The novelty can already be ordered from Mesmetric Atelier.
When working on Dock, I thought about the simplicity of diwan seating, characteristic of Middle Eastern culture, and transposed it to the modern, Western European world. In my diwan, a new generation system, the wooden base supports cushions and accessories, such as small tables on which to place a glass of wine or a book. Dock is - as the name suggests - a place, an oasis of life, a safe haven for the home," says the designer.
The Dock's design is based on a solid platform, which provides the basis for creating individualized compositions that develop vertically and horizontally. The cushions designed for the Dock are surprising in size and proportions, and make it possible to build two-sided, corner and chaise-longue variants of the system, suitable for the center of a room or classic frontal settings, as well as Eastern-inspired seating close to the ground.
It is also possible to insert additional modules between them, such as comfortable padded armrests with stitching, or slender elements for putting away objects, which not only create a visual rhythm, but increase the functionality of the sofa.
In addition to B&B Italia's standard range of fabrics and leather upholstery, two new exclusive fabrics have been prepared for the system - camellia leather and textured cannetè cotton.
