Architect captures light with Fakro windows

Transformation of the headquarters of the Supreme Audiovisual Council of Wallonia

A new headquarters of the Supreme Audiovisual Council of Wallonia has been designed in the historic center of Brussels. The transformation of the existing building provided the opportunity to apply modern and highly aesthetic solutions.

effectively...

In the central part of the building, where the ceiling is at different levels, there was a room under a flat roof with no access to daylight. This necessitated an extraordinary solution for efficiently bringing natural light into this interior. Filling the roof in this part of the building with FAKRO windows for flat roofs was an excellent idea of the architect in this case. The practical advantages of this solution include not only providing adequate daylight, but also the ability to provide fresh air in a convenient way. Of the roof windows installed here, one is electrically controlled, so it can be opened and closed remotely. Other practical advantages of these windows include high thermal insulation, which is 0.7 W/m2K, and equally impressive soundproofing for calming silence.

...and impressive

A roof glazed with FAKRO windows is not only a practical solution, but also a very aesthetic one. Natural light entering the interior through roof windows gives the feeling of being outdoors and introduces an atmosphere of communing with the outside world. In addition, daylight fills the occupants with optimism and a desire for action. From the outside, too, the roof filled with D_F series windows is very impressive. With a simple, minimalist design without unnecessary additions, these windows add charm and style to the entire project. In fact, nothing more needs to be said. Just look from the upper floor at the ceiling full of FAKRO windows and judge for yourself.

meet expectations

In creating its products, FAKRO responds to the needs of the market both technically and artistically. D_F windows meet expectations thanks to the comprehensiveness of their advantages.

Architect Anne Ledroit, the author of the remodeling project, confirms this with the words: "We chose FAKRO primarily for its aesthetics and very good energy efficiency. Compared to other flat roof windows on the market, they have a more compact and modern form that fascinated us. The aforementioned very good thermal insulation properties are also very important to us."
