In the latest episode of the "Foundations" podcast, we recall a conversation with people who were brought together by passion, shared experiences and creative collaboration: Brian Dam, Anita Wisniewska and Marcel Dawid - co-founders of vibsu.co studio. This is a conversation about what their studies in Italy, Spain and Poland were like, their first overseas internships - including at Kengo Kuma's office in Tokyo - and how joint competition projects can become the beginning of a professional path.

From student projects to their own studio

Brian, Anita and Marcel met while they were still students, collaborating on international architectural competitions. One of their greatest joint successes was the "Cocoon" project , which won second place in the Bee Breeders - Romantic Cabin for Two competition.

From this experience vibsu.co was born - a studio specializing in architectural visualization and creative storytelling. Today, all three combine design, art and technology to create images that transport viewers into the world of future spaces.

Internships and experiences from around the world

The conversation includes memories of learning and working in different countries:

  • Anita Wisniewska talks about her experiences at AZC Architects in Paris and Kengo Kuma & Associates in Tokyo.

  • Marcel Dawid shares reflections from his time studying at Politecnico di Milano and IAAC in Barcelona, as well as working at Willy Muller Architects.

  • Brian Dam talks about his journey from photography and visual art to establishing his own studio - and how his experience with new media influences his approach to architecture.

The guests emphasize that participation in architectural competitions is not only an opportunity to win awards, but above all a form of learning and searching for one's own style.
It's a space where you can experiment, cross boundaries, learn to collaborate and present your own ideas.

Work, passion and the future

The second part of the conversation reflects on what the daily life of young architects working between Poland, France and Spain looks like. The guests share their experiences of working in international offices, talk about cultural differences and what to take from foreign internships.

As they themselves admit - architecture is not only about design, but also about building relationships, observation and the ability to tell the story of a space.
