Port city of Gdynia: Yacht Park creates new city skyline

15 of February '22

The combination of a unique location, historical background and modern architecture sets Gdynia apart. In the post-industrial part of the city center, which was previously partially enclosed as a port area, a luxury residential complex called Yacht Park has now been built as part of the waterfront revitalization. It is said to be the new face of Gdynia. Impressive panoramic windows allow direct views of the newly created marina and meet the highest requirements for energy efficiency.

This prestigious complex was designed with comfort, quality and precision in mind, where the planners wanted to meet the expectations of even the most demanding customers. In addition, the entire Yacht Park was developed to make the most of green technologies.
135 unique apartments have been built on a total area of about 6,000 square meters - in six buildings of 5 floors each. The proximity to the city center and the view of Kosciuszko Square make Yacht Park even more attractive. Inspired by the best marinas in the world, the unique development project should not only offer a modern marina for 120 yachts, but also be an ideal base for cruises and sailing expeditions.
Yacht Park's buildings have an unusual trapezoidal shape and face as far south as possible, allowing for a perfect view of the Baltic skyline. The shape was inspired by the desire to provide residents with maximum daylight and a breathtaking view of the picturesque landscape of Gdynia and the Bay of Gdansk. Huge panoramic windows are designed to give the residents the impression that they are directly on a luxury yacht and from there they can see the sunset from the sea. The acclaimed Polski Holding Nieruchomości Group awarded the project under the PHN Development brand to the Polish architecture firm Arch-Deco. There, the decision was made to choose SGG Cool-Lite SKN 176 triple insulating glazing with SWISSPACER Ultimate premium warm spacer.

"Due to the sometimes very strong wind gusts, it was important to equip the windows with only the best components. Reyners aluminum profiles and Glassolutions triple glazing provide excellent stability. The perfect parallelism of the spacers is especially important when using insulating glass units of such a large size. Swiss SWISSPACER Ultimate spacers are particularly suitable for this because of their very high rigidity. They make an impression with their matte surface and thus optimally fit into an elegant overall architectural concept from an aesthetic point of view."

- says Zbigniew Reszka, founder and CEO of ArchDeco.

In addition to the visual requirements for panoramic windows, SWISSPACER Ultimate frames provide impressive performance in terms of window energy efficiency. The warm edge thus makes a significant contribution to meeting the high requirements of the sustainable building concept. Throughout the complex, more than 4,500m2 of double-glazed units were installed, for the manufacture of which more than 35,000mb of spacer was used. This relatively small component is an essential component of any insulating glass unit, and in this case the use of the warmest spacer in the SWISSPACER range was an obvious choice.
