What exactly is swissporBITERM?
On a flat roof, each layer of the system has a specific function. The thermal insulation retains heat. The waterproofing base layer separates the Styrofoam from direct contact with moisture and protects it for the installation of further layers. Typically, these are two separate installation steps. The swisspor brand solution combines them into one.
swisspor BITERM is a layered insulation board - commonly called "styrofoam" - consisting of a core of polystyrene foam permanently bonded to a layer of thermally welded asphalt felt. The core of the board is made of polystyrene foam with a compressive stress at 10% strain of at least 80 kPa. The cladding is a weldable, underlayment asphalt membrane on glass fiber veil, factory laminated to the polystyrene surface. The joint is tensile resistant (strength ≥ 0.1 MPa), water resistant (≥ 0.1 MPa) and resistant to extreme temperatures: both +80°C and -20°C (≥ 0.1 MPa). The peel strength of the joint is at least 20 Nmm/mm. The product has a fire classification of BROOF(t1) and NRO.
The boards are produced in 1000×1000 mm format, in thicknesses from 40 to 300 mm with gradations of 10 mm. They are available with straight or milled edges and in flat or sloped versions. Paper wrapping can be single- or double-sided. Laminating with membranes with inserts other than standard glass veil is possible on request.
Energy efficiency at the highest level
