"10 Questions to..." is a series of short interviews with architects and female architects, to whom we address the same pool of questions. In today's installment of the mini-interview about the most important buildings, favorite book and design methods, Julian Zmijewski of JAZ+Architekci studio answered.

Julian Zmijewski is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology. Member of SARP and MOIA RP. Since 2007 he worked in the team of JAZ studio, and since 2010 he is a partner and founder of JAZ+Architekci office.

1. architecture in three words...?

a. Users.
b. Needs.

2. the three most important buildings for you...?

a. Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra rehearsal hall (soon to be demolished).
b. Railroad Museum in Odolany (3rd place in competition, not realized).
c. Polish Pavilion at Expo in Dubai (2nd place in competition, not realized).

3. the most important book on architecture...?

Christopher Alexander's "The Language of Patterns."

4. most inspiring city and why...?

Warsaw, I completely don't understand why.

5. architect with whom you would like to design something and why...?

Stefan Kurylowicz. I would like to see if he was right.

6. hand drawing or computer drawing?

Both.

7. mockup or 3D model?

Mockups for satisfaction, 3D models for work.

8. Modernism or postmodernism?

Probably postmodernism.

9. Work after hours or sports?

I prefer sports.

10. architecture or business?

Architecture is a business.
