Every four years, the National Reporting and Election Convention of the Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland is held—a meeting during which delegates representing the various IARP districts elect the president and members of the National Council for the next term. With 70 out of 110 votes, Borysław Czarakcziew won the election, thereby becoming the new president of the National Council of the Chamber of Architects for the coming years.
The 6th Reporting and Election National Congress of the Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland took place on June 26, 2026. The candidates in the election were the incumbent president of the Chamber of Architects, Piotr Fokczyński, Borys Czarakcziew, a member of the board of the Architects’ Council of Europe; Piotr Chuchacz, a representative of the Lesser Poland Regional Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland; and Anatol Kuczyński, a member of the Mazovia Regional Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland. Borys Czarakcziew will serve as president of the National Council of the IARP during its seventh term, spanning 2026–2030.
Borys Czarakcziew Named New President of the IARP
From 2002 to 2014, he served as the first President of the Małopolska Regional Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland. He was a member of the National Council of the Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland and Vice President of the KRIA responsible for international cooperation. For over fifteen years, he has represented Poland at the European level in the work of the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) and the European Network of Architects’ Competent Authorities (ENACA). From 2020 to 2025, he served as a member of the Executive Board of the Architects’ Council of Europe. He served as ACE Treasurer for one and a half terms. From 2024 to 2025, he coordinated the area responsible for the quality of the built environment, housing, cultural heritage, and the future of the architectural profession. He was the owner of a small design studio, a co-owner of a design firm, and President of Miastoprojekt Kraków from 1999 to 2005. He has participated in residential, public, urban planning, and conservation projects, winning numerous awards and distinctions with his teams in national and international architectural and urban planning competitions, including the SARP Award of the Year.

As part of his candidacy ,he presented 10 commitments to architects, outlining his proposed actions aimed, among other things, at improving working conditions for the profession, curbing price dumping, and reforming public procurement rules.
