Extreme test: the ATF 50 facade with CWCT certification
For construction companies operating in the UK, CWCT (Centre for Window and Cladding Technology) standards are a benchmark of the highest quality and safety. These standards are significantly more stringent than pan-European norms, as they simulate the extreme weather conditions typical of the British Isles. Testing of the ATF 50 facade system was conducted in an accredited British laboratory. On an impressive 55 m² test model (8 m high, 7.2 m wide), the facade was subjected to tests that are unattainable for many standard systems. The most spectacular stage was the dynamic watertightness test, in which a powerful aircraft engine propeller was used to generate hurricane-force wind gusts along with rainfall.
The ATF 50 system passed the tests with flying colors, also withstanding a water jet test and peak pressure of +/- 3600 Pa. Achieving high impact resistance ratings (I5 and E5) gives customers the assurance that the building meets the safety standards required by British NBS and NHBC specifications. In addition to its strength, the facade offers excellent thermal insulation with a Ucw value of 0.5 W/m²K, which directly translates to operational savings for investors.

Most system providers trying their hand in England offer windows in which the scissor hinges and locking hardware must fit into a single, shared groove. This leads to constant technical conflicts and, in practice, makes it impossible to achieve reliable perimeter locking. In the AS 75OW, we took a completely different approach. The sash profile has two separate mounting locations: one dedicated exclusively to the scissor hinges, and the other, independent, for the perimeter hardware. Thanks to this separation, we eliminate component collisions, allowing for the use of economical short-spindle handles while ensuring full perimeter locking around the entire window. These are the details that truly make life easier for manufacturers and ensure reliable operation for users for many years to come.
