What role does media play in architecture? Mies Van Der Rohe Foundation Conference

06 of May '20

Join us for an international online conference organized by the Mies Van Der Rohe Foundation in Barcelona. This year's edition is a series of talks and debates on architecture and media.

The European conference is a place to meet, exchange experiences and disseminate knowledge in the field of architecture. The event is aimed at journalists, cultural institutions and organizations, communication specialists, architects and architecture enthusiasts.

This year's meeting focuses on architecture as an important element that creates culture and disseminates values. In addition to the main topic, the event will focus on television, radio and audiovisual media and the role they play in the dissemination and creation of architecture.

This is what curator Miriam Giordano says about the conference :

In the first edition of Architecture & the Media we had the opportunity to start a debate about what makes an architectural project attractive to journalists and specialized magazines. This year we want to delve into the editorial logic of media and audiovisual platforms. We will lean into the role of the image and its impact on the reception of architecture. There are so many interesting new topics to discuss! This year's event is completely online, so we will reach all architecture professionals and lovers!

The initial venue was to be the Mies van der Rohe pavilion in Barcelona, but the current emergency situation restricting travel has forced the organizers to move the conference to digital channels.
