FlatAIR-Xwall od Alnor: rekuperator z wymiennikiem entalpicznym do wentylacji bezkanałowej

03 of June '26

Apartments, studio apartments, and small office spaces often limit the possibility of installing an extensive ductwork system. Alnor’s FlatAIR-Xwall enables the use of mechanical ventilation with heat recovery in a decentralized system. The unit utilizes an enthalpy counterflow heat exchanger, operates without a traditional duct network, and can be installed directly in the room.

When does a decentralized heat recovery unit simplify system selection?

In renovated buildings, small apartments, and office spaces, space for ventilation ducts is often limited. Installing the system may require altering the building’s structure, lowering ceilings, or changing the layout of the rooms. This is not always technically feasible or cost-effective.

FlatAIR-Xwall—a decentralized heat recovery unit with an enthalpy exchanger —is designed for ductless installation. Its compact design allows some of the functions typically found in central heat recovery units to be transferred to a decentralized unit installed directly in the room. The absence of an extensive ductwork infrastructure simplifies installation work and reduces installation time.

This solution is suitable for projects that call for mechanical ventilation with heat recovery but where technical constraints limit the feasibility of a central system. This applies to both residential units and smaller usable spaces.

FlatAIR-Xwall – what performance parameters does the enthalpy exchanger provide?

FlatAIR-Xwall uses a counterflow enthalpy exchanger. The system recovers thermal energy and moisture from the exhaust air. This design supports the operation of the system in rooms where stable supply air parameters and minimized energy losses are critical.

FlatAIR-Xwall specifications include:

  • heat recovery: up to 87%,

  • EU-compliant heat recovery: up to 82%,

  • humidity recovery: up to approximately 85%,

  • capacity options: 80, 100, and 125 m³/h,

  • power consumption: 20 to 40 W,

  • sound power level: 36 to 42 dB(A),

  • energy efficiency class: up to A.

How does Constant Flow maintain airflow in the FlatAIR-Xwall?

The operation of a ventilation system depends on flow resistance. Over time, filters become clogged, air temperature and density change, and system settings may deviate from their initial parameters. FlatAIR-Xwall uses the Constant Flow system, which maintains a constant airflow regardless of these changes.

The system automatically compensates for dirty filters, temperature changes, variations in air density, and natural drift in the system. A constant airflow reduces the need for frequent adjustments and helps maintain operating parameters in line with the design specifications.

What installation and control options does FlatAIR-Xwall offer?

The FlatAIR-Xwall design allows for surface-mounted and in-wall installation. The unit can operate in vertical, horizontal, or suspended configurations. These installation options make it easy to adapt the heat recovery unit to the room conditions and available technical space.

FlatAIR-Xwall can also be used with FLX-HDPE semi-flexible ducts. In this configuration, air can be distributed between rooms. This configuration combines the features of both decentralized and centralized systems without the need for a full duct installation.

The unit’s housing is lined with sound-absorbing material, which reduces noise emissions. With a sound power level ranging from 36 to 42 dB(A), the heat recovery unit can be used in living spaces without compromising acoustic comfort.
