How to choose a wooden floor? Nature underfoot

18 of June '20

underfloor heating

When it comes to floors, we often have to remember one more important technical aspect - heating. It is increasingly common to use low-temperature heating systems in the home, which are the basis of ecological construction. It is these that provide comfort underfoot in the bedroom or living room, among others. After all, this is the part of the house where we are most likely to be barefoot, and children like to play on the floor. In eco-friendly homes, wood floors are a natural choice - they are made from environmentally friendly materials, and the three-layer version works effectively with underfloor heating. In addition, they are warm by nature, so outside the heating season, contact with it is also pleasant.

If we decide to lay wood floors for heating, we must remember that in this case the species of wood does not matter much - but the structure of the plank itself is key. Three-layer planks are a version of wood floors dedicated precisely to surface heating systems. The bottom part, the one closest to the heat source, is made of a uniform layer of wood, and on top of it the middle layer slats are laid crosswise. The outer part is noble wood with a unique grain pattern, covered with oils or seven layers of varnish, which guarantees durability. Such a construction ensures adequate thermal conductivity and stability of the floor itself, which does not warp, dry out or deform. Three-layer planks can be installed with glue also on heating.
