How to design a healthy and green office?

01 of December '19

The Polish Green Building Association PLGBC, together with a group of experts, has developed an interactive guide to a healthy green office to help users find solutions in various areas of workplace operations.

The guide, its authors write, includes answers to many other relevant questions. The materials collected in it are divided into ten categories important for a sustainable office: Air Quality in the Office, Acoustics, Daylight and Lighting, Thermal Comfort, Office Layout and Active Design, Positive Spaces, or Pro-mental Design, Nature in and Outside the Office, Building Amenities, Office User and Building Management.

Each category is divided into a number of cards with tips, examples of solutions, their advantages and disadvantages. Individual topics have been assigned for use in new and/or existing buildings, and are described by tags, such as #health or #productivity.

We spend 90 percent of our time in buildings. Of that, as much as 36 percent working in office buildings, which is why it's so important to have new knowledge and learn about the most important aspects of skillful space design. The interactive guide, the authors assure, is intended to be helpful to all those who want to take steps leading to sustainable office design.

The "Healthy Green Office" guide can be found here.
