Revitalization of Wielen

The subject of revitalization activities is the interlocking with public spaces section of the town of Wielen, which is inscribed in the grid of streets - the heavily traveled main provincial road of T. Kosciuszko Street and the side streets of H. Sawicka and H. Sienkiewicza.

As architects say about this part of the city:

It stands apart from other parts of the city, is unwelcoming and is a pseudo-parking area for customers of stores located on the city's main street. Its current function - that of a former bus stop - froze at a time when most people switched to their own means of transportation, the traffic organization and bus routes were changed locally, and the station's small pavilion ceased to meet functional requirements and was rented out for commercial service.

The aim of the project is to create a place for the integration of residents in a heavily urbanized part of the city, on the main road of Tadeusza Kosciuszko Street, through the use of educational installations, leisure and leisure elements. The revival of this part of the city had to be controlled.

Can anything more be designed?

The original version of the project assumed the development of the space in the form of a square with a tree, elements of small architecture such as: small stands, an announcement wall that also serves as a screen, a monument, elements for urban activity, an off-road terrace for urban workshops and urban and partially acoustic fencing off T. Kosciuszko Street from the road.

As a result of the developing revitalization program and the reconciliation of other programs that the City and Municipality of Vielen is conducting, it was decided to additionally design a skeletal cafe pavilion under the name "Education Stop". After the elimination of asphalt surfaces, pavements were designed with noble concrete cubes in granite borders, a sand and gravel surface in the area of the plane tree and a designed terrace made of conglomerate boards, which will be an ideal ground for workshops conducted by the Municipal Cultural Center and for the terrace of the designed café.
