Thermal comfort starts with the tile - meet the innovation from Braas!

13 of October '25

The changing climate - ever-higher temperatures in spring and more frequent and longer heat waves in summer - all make protecting buildings from heat an important challenge in modern construction. Can a roof not only protect against rain and wind, but also actively reflect solar radiation? Thanks to modern technologies, such as the TermoComfort coating, this is as possible. The innovative solution from Braas makes the roof heat up more slowly and less intensively. After all, thermal comfort starts with the tile!

Why does the roof heat up?

The heating of buildings, including roofing, is largely related to infrared radiation. Although it is invisible to the naked eye, it accounts for 45% to as much as 55% of the total solar radiation reaching the Earth's surface. It is responsible for the intense heating of roofs, facades and other surfaces exposed to the sun. Roofing always, although to varying degrees, absorbs infrared radiation, resulting in an increase in the temperature of both the roofing and all roof layers. This can even have the effect of increasing the temperature of the rooms inside the building.

Innovative TermoComfort from Braas

The modern coating of TermoComfort concrete tiles works by reflecting infrared radiation. The special IRR blockers used in it make the tiles absorb significantly less heat energy. As a result, the roof surface heats up much more slowly and less intensively. TermoComfort tiles effectively reduce the heating of the roofing - by up to 27 degrees on hot days.* In addition, on hot days they reduce the temperature in the attic by up to 5.8 C*, and the lower temperature can persist in the interior for up to 10 hours of maximum sunshine*.

A roof that can withstand harsh conditions

Concrete roof tiles with TermoComfort coating are a solution designed not only to protect against summer heat. Thanks to the innovative coating, high-quality raw materials and modern production technology, these tiles perform perfectly in all weather conditions. They are resistant to harsh weather conditions such as storms, hail, intense rainfall or gusty winds. They are also highly frost resistant. As a result, the roof remains aesthetically pleasing and functional for decades, regardless of the vagaries of the weather. Braas TermoComfort tiles also offer excellent sound insulation, increasing the comfort of everyday building use.

Three models of TermoComfort tiles

Braas concrete tiles with the innovative TermoComfort coating are available in three carefully designed models.

  • Teviva TermoComfort is a tile with a flat, minimalist profile that fits perfectly into the style of contemporary architecture. Its simple form and subdued colors - graphite, crystal gray and black - blend perfectly with modern building blocks.

  • Baltic TermoComfort is a wave-shaped tile that refers to classical design. The asymmetrical wave creates an interesting play of light and shadow on the roof, adding elegance to the building. It is currently available in graphite and black, and from the first quarter of 2026 also in a brown shade.

  • Celtic ThermoComfort combines the traditional shape of a symmetrical wave with modern technological features. It is currently offered in graphite and will also be available in brown from the first quarter of 2026.
