Stanislaw Deńko - briefly on the subject

FOPA - the Festival of Open Architectural Studios, an event accompanying the Open Eyes Economy Summit congress in Krakow, is about to start. During these meetings, participants will have the opportunity to take a look at Krakow's architectural studios and meet the architects in person. One of them will be Stanislaw Deńko, founder of the WIZJA studio, who answered our "10 questions to...".

StanislawDeńko was born in 1943 in Dobczyce, and has lived in Krakow since 1948. After defending his diploma in 1967, he worked at the Institute of Urbanism and Spatial Planning of the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology under the direction of and in collaboration with Professor Witold Ceckiewicz, with whom they won a competition in 1973 to design the headquarters of the Polish Embassy in New Delhi. From 1990 to 1993, he worked as a didactician at the College of Architecture at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville (USA), and after returning from the United States, together with American architect Glenn Lewis, he founded the architectural office WIZJA. He held the positions of Architect of the City of Cracow and Director of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Cracow City Hall, and since 2004 he has been teaching at the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts at the Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Academy in Cracow. In 2016, he was awarded the SARP Honorary Award.

Modernism combined with minimalism.
