Black and white studio apartment for rent in Warsaw designed by Nadia Mitlosz Interiors

08 of July '20

A small studio measuring 17.3 square meters proves that size doesn't matter. Here you can find everything you need, and even more - the interior in no way resembles typical spaces for rent. Black and white juxtaposed with soft, muted hues pleasantly affect the senses and calm down. Stylish accessories complete the whole, creating an eclectic interior.

Nadia Mitlosz from the Nadia Mitłosz Interiors studio in the design of the Warsaw studio apartment relied on black. Contrary to appearances, this did not optically reduce the space. Paradoxically, it gave the interior coziness, but also a unique character. As the architect herself says - it's worth being bold, well, unless it's a kitchen in red!

The designer spent several years collecting various antiques, including old frames, mirrors, etc. Finally she was able to use her collections in creating the interior of a black and white apartment. They served as a decoration over the kitchen countertop. This small change completely changed the tone of the space - eclectic combinations gave the whole place an atmosphere. In addition to the wall accessories, there was also a chair from the pre-war years. The original upholstery was badly damaged, so the architect decided to replace it. In conversation with the investor, the choice fell on black leather. The skirt of the owner of the apartment that had been lying at the bottom of the closet for years was used.

In the bedroom, open to the kitchen, which also serves as a living room, the architect cleverly placed a closet with a door covered with a mirror, which further optically enlarged the space. Due to the small volume, a decision was made to use sliding doors to the bathroom - metal with reinforced glass. They not only separate the two rooms, but also provide additional decoration of the interior.

The bathroom itself was designed using the same color palette as the rest of the apartment. The white wall tiles contrast with the black floor, and the finishes of the mirror and shower frames in the same shade, shape the small space.
