Snow-white ADAGIO ceilings - ecological and acoustic

08 of September '22

Knauf Ceiling Solutions has introduced a newcomer to the market in Poland - ADAGIO series modular ceilings. These are smooth, snow-white panels in several versions to meet different acoustic requirements of rooms. They have Cradle to Cradle environmental certification. And the high level of light reflection from the surface of the boards reduces energy consumption costs in the interior by 16%.

The main distinguishing feature of the entire series is the broad thinking about the properties of the ceiling tiles. They are to be responsible not only for acoustics, but also to help illuminate the interior. The manufacturer also focused on design flexibility and contribution to sustainable construction. The entire line includes four models: ADAGIO Acoustic+, ADAGIO Alpha+, ADAGIO dB+ and ADAGIO HD+.

Ecological interiors friendly to people and the environment

Thanks to their snow-white surface, ADAGIO panels reflect 90% of the light falling on them. Such a high ratio reduces the need for artificial lighting, cutting electricity costs by 16%. This relationship is particularly noticeable in those parts of the rooms where natural lighting does not reach at all or to a very limited extent, such as corridors in public buildings - offices, schools, medical facilities, among others. It also effectively helps illuminate the spaces of open spece offices located far from windows or glass facades of office buildings.

The series is Cradle to Cradle® certified, which is the most advanced system today that complies with the idea of the Closed Circle Economy (GOZ). The panels contain 56% recycled materials. These eco-friendly properties help buildings and interiors achieve LEED, BREEAM and Well Building Standard certification.

In addition, ADAGIO ceilings have been certified as Indoor Air Comfort, certifying their positive impact on indoor air quality.

Architects appreciate the classics

White modular ceilings, despite the wave of designers looking for more and more surprising interior design solutions, still enjoy recognition. This is because classic suspended ceilings have many functional properties. However, the problem so far has been the combination of white modules with different acoustic properties in one room.

The panels simply differed too much from each other. It was difficult to select solutions with different acoustic characteristics to install them in one interior. ADAGIO solves this problem. The boards have the same appearance, a smooth, matte white surface, but at the same time different acoustic performance. e.g. Alpha+ has a high level of sound absorption - class A, coefficient αW = 1.00, while ADAGIO dB+ board provides a high insulation coefficient which will ensure confidentiality of conversations, informs Sylwia Rudnicka.

As a result, several ADAGIO panels can be combined and installed in a single interior, such as both those that absorb noise and modules that improve speech intelligibility. For large public interiors - such as educational halls or open spaces of offices - this is an ideal solution that significantly affects the comfort of users.

The panels are available in more than a dozen sizes, both in classic square ones such as 600×600 mm and larger rectangular ones as large as 1800×600 mm. The ADAGIO series is also distinguished by a wide range of edge finishes, which gives architects the option of planning a ceiling with both a visible support structure and a monolithic ceiling in which the support grid is invisible. With a cleanable, scratch-resistant surface, the tiles provide durability as well as reliability.
