In the sixth episode of the "Foundations" podcast, we talk with Marcelina Rojkowska - a young interior designer and graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, who talks candidly about what professional life is like after graduating from five years of art studies. Marcelina shares her personal journey - from her student internship and master's thesis defended with honors, to her attempts to enter the job market, to her difficult decisions to stay out of the industry. In the interview, we look at the systemic problems faced by young graduates: lack of real preparation for the profession, high requirements with a lack of development offers, and financial pressures.

Marcelina Rojkowska
She is a young and creative graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, where she completed her master's degree with honors. She is originally from Bielsko-Biała. Her interests include photography and interior design. In her free time, she further educates herself in filmmaking, music and art.
Architecture is more than buildings or their interiors, it is the language with which we express our feelings, dreams and aspirations. It is a mirror of society, reflecting our desires, as well as our ability to compromise. Architecture is also an art that shapes our experiences and affects our psyche, says the young designer.
Life after ASP - between ambition and reality
After graduation, Marcelina - like many of her peers - faced a choice: stay true to her passion or seek financial stability outside her profession. Although she had spent years developing herself artistically, taking part in industry projects and courses, and actively supplementing her technical competence, she encountered a cold reception from the job market. Lack of experience proved to be an insurmountable barrier, and invitations to collaborate quickly turned to silence.

At the same time as looking for a job in her profession, Marcelina decided to pursue employment in catering - a place that, although unrelated to her education, gave her financial stability, less mental strain and space to remain creative.
This episode is an important voice in the discussion of the professional reality of young architects and interior designers. Listening to Marcelina, we will hear not only a personal story, but also universal questions that many graduates ask themselves: how to find your way in the market without losing your passion? Is it possible to create and live - without choosing between one and the other?
