Built-in or wall-mounted air conditioning? Installation method and design of popular units

23 of March '22

In new single-family homes, the installation of an air conditioning system is becoming more common. For most, the ideal air conditioner is one that provides thermal comfort, but you can't see it. Such a solution will not always be possible. In the text we suggest when and which air conditioner: ducted, cassette or wall-mounted, to choose.

Although in our climatic zone the number of hot days of the year is relatively small, investors want to be guaranteed maximum comfort, even on particularly warm days. The fashion for large glazing, the use of attics for sleeping purposes causes the rooms to heat up excessively in the summer even in new, well-insulated houses. In old buildings, hot summers can be even more difficult. The choice of different types of air conditioners, i.e. duct, built-in cassette or room air conditioners, i.e. wall-mounted, determines whether the decision to install air conditioning was made before or already at the stage of the finished interior.

There is no doubt that those planning to install air conditioning at the stage of creating a house project, or possibly during construction, will have the greatest choice. Well, before the interiors are finished, we can enjoy the comfort of air conditioning, which will not be visible at all, and thus, will not affect in any way the possibilities of interior design," suggests Pawel Krok, Manager for Rotenso air conditioning systems.

Supporters of such a solution should consider a ducted air conditioner, such as Rotenso NEVO designed for ceiling installation. The device allows for discreet installation in a suspended ceiling and the implementation of several vents, thanks to which the cooled or heated air can be evenly distributed also at a considerable distance from the device, and even in adjacent rooms. The visible element will include a grille.

Similar advantages have a very efficient and quiet cassette air conditioner Rotenso Tenji. The compact design and aesthetically pleasing masking panel allow the unit to be installed in any ceiling. The air conditioner panel also comes in a black casing, so it will fit perfectly in fashionable interiors with black ceilings. The 360° peripheral air supply ensures optimal air distribution even over a very large area.

Wall-mounted air conditioners

In my experience, many customers decide to retrofit already existing and finished houses and apartments with air conditioning, and then the most reasonable choice are wall units, so-called room air conditioners. Their installation on the wall does not require a lot of interference, and the choice of such devices is huge and, in fact, to each style of interior we can easily match the appropriate external panel, explains Pawel Krok.

Rotenso Elis air conditioner will be an excellent choice for those looking for a modern form for a trendy loft or industrial style interior. Minimalist, timeless design, graphite casing and front panel imitating a sheet of dark glass makes the device will harmonize with dark wall colors in particular. Thanks to its compact casing similar to a cuboid, the air conditioner will also not dominate the room.

Demanding customers will also be delighted by the Versu wall air conditioner, available in three colors. Versu Gold 's exclusive champagne-colored front panel attracts attention with its unconventional geometry and aesthetics. The unit blends perfectly in modern interiors in glamour style.

Supporters of simple forms, on the other hand, will like the Rotenso Teta air conditioner. Economical design, minimalist form and, above all, completely mat front panel, create unlimited possibilities of interior design with a unit that practically blends into the background.

Among the wide range of units available on the market, we can also find solutions to many of the limitations associated with the installation of the equipment. Revio wall air conditioner not only has excellent performance, but also allows installation at a height of only 5 centimeters from the ceiling (standard wall units should be mounted at a height of min. 15 centimeters from the ceiling), making the unit ideal for low rooms. The Revio air conditioner has only one screw and 4 latches, so it should not take more than a minute to disassemble the unit. The advantage is easy access to the air conditioner's filters, which the user can clean himself, quickly and easily by releasing the magnets of the air conditioner's top cover and removing from the top and reinserting the cleaned filters.
