In today's installment of the series, Boleslaw Stelmach answers our questions.

Boleslaw Stelmach graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology. Since 1992 he has been the owner of Stelmach and Partners Architectural Office, and since 2017 - the director of the National Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning. He is the author of the Chopin Center in Warsaw and the Meeting of Cultures Center in Lublin, among others.

1 Architecture in three words...?

Architecture is the art of transforming space as a synthesis of Nature and Culture.

2. The three most important buildings for you...?

My house with a garden in Nałęczów.

3. The most important book about architecture...?

"The Trial," by Franz Kafka.

4. Most inspiring city and why...?

San Gimignano, because I'm comfortable there.

Peter Zumthor, to try to learn.

6. hand-drawing or computer drawing?

Only hand-drawn.

7. mockup or 3D model?

Only a mockup.

8. modernism or postmodernism?

Smart architecture has no label.

Walking the walk.
