Habitat for Humanity seeks housing for refugees from Ukraine

25 of March '22

We are publishing an appeal by the Habitat for Hummanity Poland Foundation to organize shelter for refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine.

The Habitat for Humanity Poland Foundation is urgently seeking apartments for rent (furnished or unfurnished) in Warsaw and the surrounding area for families arriving in Poland from war-stricken Ukraine.

Landlords are guaranteed:

  • a lease agreement concluded with the Habitat for Humanity Poland Foundation, in accordance with Polish legislation;

  • a lease term consistent with the Landlord's expectations;

  • rent close to the market;

  • timely payment of rent, utilities and service charges;

  • return of the apartment in an undisturbed condition.

We take care of:

  • acquisition of tenants and their possible change during the lease period;

  • supervision of the ongoing operation of the apartment;

  • support of tenants during the lease period (moving out/moving in, official matters, current operation);

  • return of the apartment in an undisturbed condition;

Please contact us especially those who would like to rent an apartment at a rate slightly lower than the market rate, keeping in mind the social aspect of this initiative.

Who are we and what do we do?

Habitat for Humanity Poland Foundation is a public benefit organization, part of the international network of Habitat for Humanity charities. For 30 years we have been working in Poland for accessible housing for the indigent and housing-excluded. Since February 24, 2022, we have been helping refugees from Ukraine to find safe shelter for longer. Since 2017, we have been developing a pioneering social rental program in Poland, consisting of:

  • sourcing affordable housing from the private market for indigent and housing-excluded individuals/families;
  • support for landlords and tenants in connection with apartment rental;
  • regular social support for tenants by the Foundation's staff;
