Hornberg, July 1, 2022: The Supervisory Board of Duravit AG, at its June 28 meeting, prematurely and unanimously extended CEO Stephan Tahy's contract for another five years until 2027. The reason for this is not only the success of the last financial year, but also the belief that Stephan Tahy and his fellow board members, Thomas Stammel and Martin Winkle, working together with the entire team, have been able to build on past successes and will continue to realize Duravit's full potential in the future.

In July 2020, Tahy became CEO of the family-owned company, which has around 7,000 employees worldwide and operates in more than 130 countries. His contract was to run until 2023.

"I am delighted with the early contract extension and the show of confidence in me," - Stephan Tahy said. "Only by working together can we achieve our ambitious goals. Therefore, we want to take advantage of the favorable winds and shape the necessary changes together."

Duravit on a growth path and on a climate mission

With Stephan Tahy at the helm as CEO, Duravit managed to achieve record sales of €604 million last fiscal year, a year-on-year increase of about 28 percent.

"Despite difficult circumstances in the global economy, we are approaching the one billion mark," he explained.

Duravit remains on track for success: In the first quarter, the company generated total sales of 172.1 million euros (2021: 140 million euros). Growth, including the one-time effect of the consolidation of Bernstein, was 22.9 percent.

In addition, Duravit has embarked on a comprehensive climate mission: by 2045, the company from Hornberg in the Black Forest wants to be a completely climate-neutral company globally, without relying on offsets orCO2 trading.

"None of this would be possible without the team effort of our employees, who are recreating this success every day despite the difficult and changing conditions at the company. These are the best conditions for realizing our corporate vision of 'Improving people's daily lives' for all our Board stakeholders," Tahy said.
