Resin flooring from Flowcrete, a leading expert in this technology, has received the prestigious, internationally recognized Cleanroom Suitable Materials® certification from the Fraunhofer IPA research institute (report TR 2501-1581). This certification is awarded to materials, such as flooring systems or sealant coatings, that are tested in a cleanroom according to specific cleanliness criteria.

Clean rooms (also known as cleanrooms) are rooms with controlled environmental parameters, particularly regarding contaminants such as particles, bacteria, chemicals - volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Sites of this type are used for research and development activities and in semiconductor manufacturing, electronics, optics, aerospace, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

TheCSM - Cleanroom Suitable Materials® certification from the Fraunhofer IPA research institute confirms that the Flowcrete resin floors indicated therein are suitable for use in cleanrooms. Test report TR 2501-1581 covers flooring systems: Flowcoat SF41, Flowcoat SF41 LE, Peran SL, Peran ESD SL20, Flowfresh ESD SL and coatings: Hardtop Conductive and Flowcoat PA302.

Flowcrete resin floors that have received Cleanroom Suitable Materials® certification:

  • Flowcoat SF41 - a seamless, smooth, thin-film epoxy coating with good mechanical and chemical resistance. This floor is distinguished by its ease of cleaning (riboflavin test) at a very good level. Tests established volatile organic compound (VOC) emission levels for this system, and particle emissions (according to ISO 14644-1) were confirmed at ISO air cleanliness class 6 levels.

  • Flowcoat SF41 LE - a version of Flowcoat SF41 smooth flooring with low VOC emissions. VOC emissions have been tested for this system, and particle emissions (according to ISO 14644-1) have been confirmed to be equivalent to ISO air cleanliness class 5. This coating has a cleaning efficiency (riboflavin test) of excellent and good biological resistance to fungi and bacteria.

  • Peran SL - a smooth poured-type epoxy floor with high abrasion and impact resistance. This flooring system shows cleaning efficiency at an excellent level, confirmed by testing in the riboflavin test. In addition, it has been tested for volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, and particle emissions (according to ISO 14644-1) for this coating have been confirmed to be equivalent to ISO air cleanliness class 5.

  • Peran ESD SL20 - an epoxy self-leveling floor with antistatic properties and a smooth and glossy finish, for which VOC emissions have been confirmed in tests, and particle emissions (according to ISO 14644-1) have been tested and confirmed as corresponding to ISO air cleanliness class 5.

  • Flowfresh ESD SL - an anti-electrostatic poured-type floor with a smooth, matte surface and antimicrobial properties, for which particle emissions (according to ISO 14644-1) have been tested and confirmed to be equivalent to ISO air cleanliness class 5.

Flowcrete top coatings certified as Cleanroom Suitable Materials®:

  • Hardtop Conductive - an aliphatic polyurethane resin-based coating for use as a conductive capping layer for anti-electrostatic flooring systems, with proven cleaning performance (riboflavin test) at an excellent level.

  • Flowcoat PA302 - a colorless, aliphatic polyaspartic resin that provides floors with additional surface protection and a high-gloss finish, with cleaning efficiency (riboflavin test) at an excellent level.
