The winner of the SARP 2020 Honorary Award was Zbigniew Maćków, owner of the Wroclaw office Maćków Pracownia Projektowa, author of such projects as Nowe Żerniki, the building of the UWr Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, and the Transfer Junction, among others. MPP's designs have won numerous awards in national and international competitions, and the studio recently won first place in a competition to design a school and kindergarten complex on Cinnamon Street in Wroclaw.

The SARP Honorary Award is a prize awarded since 1966 by the Association of Polish Architects to Polish architects for outstanding achievements - most often for a lifetime of activity contributing to the development of Polish architecture.

The 2020 SARP Honorary Award Chapter, consisting of previous years' winners: Marek Dunikowski, Marian Fikus, Jacek Lenart, Bolesław Stelmach, and SARP President Bohdan (Bisia) Lisowski (chairman of the chapter), considered the nominations submitted by SARP Branches on September 24, awarding the prize to Zbigniew Maćkow.

As we read in the justification of the Chapter:

The Honorary Award is an expression of the highest recognition of the Polish architectural community for architectural work, but also for social attitudes. The laureate's involvement in the model transformation of the city - from the New Żerniki to the Neighborhood Terrace, confirms that the architectural profession is not just a profession, but a mission in the service of society, the local collective and the individual.

The SARP 2020 Honorary Award Ceremony, combined with the opening of an exhibition of the work of this year's laureate, will be held on December 4 this year., at the headquarters of the Association of Polish Architects in Warsaw.
