He has faced almost every scale and function in a variety of locations and even the most challenging contexts. For decades he co-founded one of the most important architectural studios in Krakow, he is not afraid of bold decisions and proposals that provoke discussion. Marek Dunikowski will be the guest of the October installment of the #NOWE TRENDS IN ARCHITECTURE series. What a meeting it will be!

The #NOWE TRENDS IN ARCHITECTURE online meeting series has so far hosted many distinguished architects, including Przemo Łukasik of medusa group, Kazimierz Łatak and Piotr Lewicki of the Lewicki Łatak Design Office, Jerzy Szczepanik-Dzikowski of JEMS Architects, Professor Romuald Loegler, Maciej Franta, Joanna Rayss and Kuba Snopek.

#NEW TRENDS IN ARCHITECTURE

In the next episode of the series #NEW TRENDS IN ARCHITECTURE, the guest of the meeting hosted by Jakub Glaz, architecture critic and editor of the A&B portal, will be architect Marek Dunikowski, co-founder of the DDJM office, which today operates under the banner of Baumschlager Eberle Architekci Krakow.

The conversation straight from the Krakow recording studio will be broadcast on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 1 p.m. The meeting will be seen live on A&B's YouTube channel and Facebook page. There will be an opportunity to ask questions during the conversation.

Marek DunikowskiMarek Dunikowski - since defending his diploma in 1974 at the Faculty of Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology, he has been developing his architectural skills both in theory - working as an assistant at the Institute of Urban Planning at the Cracow university, as a Fullbright scholar at the University of Berkley in California or as a visiting professor at the University of Knoxville, Tennessee, and in practice - at the Cracow Academic Architecture Studio Żaczek, run by Stanislaw Deńka. In 1991, he was one of the founders of the DDJM studio in Cracow, which - since the transformation - has been setting new trends in architecture, creating office buildings in Cracow, including the GTC complex on Armii Krajowej Avenue, the first shopping malls, supermalls and multicinemas. The studio approaches the existing architectural fabric with great sensitivity, which can be seen, among other things, in the adaptation of the Stradom House building, as well as with great success competing in architectural competitions, including for the design of the Museum - Memorial Site in Bełżec or the Krakow Music Center building on Blonie Street. The most iconic projects of the studio led by Marek Dunikowski include the European Krzysztof Penderecki Music Center in Lusławice, appreciated by the industry with the SARP Award of the Year in 2013, among others, as well as the completion of the construction of Krakow's "Szkieletor", known today as the Unity Centre, which the architect refers to as the "office Wawel". Dunikowski was awarded SARP's Honorary Award in 2004 for his "ability to create an environment of partnership with young architects, resulting in their great commitment to creative teamwork."

Jakub GłazJakub Głaz - architecture critic, publicist, animator of spatial activities, editor of the architekturaibiznes.pl portal and regular columnist of the Architektura & Biznes monthly. Graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Poznan University of Technology, who directed his professional path towards the popularization of architecture and activities to repair cities.

He is a two-time winner of the Journalist Award of the Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland, author and curator of many architectural exhibitions, co-founder of the "Open Center" initiative and the Modernist Architecture Festival "New Plan", co-author of the book for children and adults "Common does not mean nobody's" and two series of the TV series "Book of Space". In the film series "Domokrążcy" he shows unique stories of Polish houses and apartments.
