Faculty of Art on the Web - art in the VR environment of Mozilla Hubs!

01 of July '20

The Faculty of Arts at the University of Education has been organizing Art in the City for 8 years now. Due to this year's pandemic restrictions, the organizers have decided to move the event online. In their release, the festival will be held in VR(Virtual Reality) in the Mozilla Hubs environment. You can watch in VRgoggles or through a web browser!

During the Faculty of Art in the City, artistic and scientific works of students and lecturers of the Faculty of Art of the Pedagogical University of Krakow will be presented. This year you can see more than 30 virtual exhibitions, which were usually held in the city's galleries and institutions. The nature of the projects reflects the diversity of creative and design attitudes across all faculties, and is also a record of the current situation faced by students, artists and designers.

art galleries in the age of pandemics

The Faculty of Art on the Web runs from July 1 to 5 this year. The full program can be seen on the Faculty's website. The Faculty of Art on the Web is proof that human creativity, the need for creative expression, is not bound by simple rules of closure. Galleries and cultural institutions that have so far presented exhibitions as part of the Faculty of Art in the City are closed due to pandemonium, our response to this situation is to create a virtual gallery. The organizers decided to take full advantage of the possibilities of augmented reality. The galleries were built in the VR environment of Mozilla Hubs - an experimental space of friendly virtual reality.
