No. 5 - Sopot multitap by PB/STUDIO project

06 of July '20

On vacation in Sopot, in addition to a trip to the sandy beach, a jump into the icy Baltic water and a stroll on the pier, you can also drink craft beer. A large selection is served by the No. 5 multitap known in the Tri-City for a long time. Its location once housed one of Sopot's most popular clubs. Today, customers can choose from 20 taps - each with a different beer!

Since No. 5 serves craft beers and as many as 20 taps provide this frothy beverage, a significant portion of the space had to be a bar. The architects at {tag:pracownie} took care of that. It measures almost 20 meters, and the top was made of concrete. It is located in the center of the restaurant, so to speak, dividing it into two parts - the daytime part, located closer to the entrance, and the evening part further away.

The former is characterized by soft seating, there is more light coming in from the street and an atmosphere conducive to lunches, coffee and midday drinks. The evening section is located behind the bar - there, in addition to tables and varied types of seating, a stage has been placed. The floor, divided into fields of light terazzo and oak plank, further emphasizes the zoning of the restaurant's considerable size.

In the interior design of No. 5, the architects were inspired by the industrial style - elements belonging aesthetically to the fabric of the building were combined with a more elegant atmosphere of light terazzo, dark oak and upholstered, colorful furniture. The juxtaposition of materials is complemented by the raw steel sheeting used to clad the bar and one of the walls. The existing steel structure was highlighted with a deep turquoise color. The motif of a geometric pattern - a circle inscribed in a square - is repeated in the interior, which can be seen, among other things, in the partitions made of cut ceramic blocks.

The challenge was to use the full potential of the long and narrow premises

The challenge was to use the full potential of thelong and narrow premises. The architects designed an openable front window and a skylight to provide daylight to the farthest part. The designers also did work on various details - they created several types of tables and lamps, as well as various forms of logo implementation like poured terazzo and inlay in wood.
