Gentle, intelligent, with character - this is how a typical representative of the whippet breed is described. The same could be said of the interior designed by Katowice-based architect {tag:Studio}. The apartment, located next to a park and a pond, had to have an equally open interior space.
Sztauwajery is the Silesian name for the Three Ponds Valley in Katowice. This is where the 67-square-meter apartment is located. The premise of the project was to create a spacious apartment, personalized for its occupants - a couple of young people. The space was deprived of unnecessary divisions and doors - only the absolutely necessary ones remained, leading to the toilet and the private zone. It consists of a bathroom, the aforementioned toilet and a bedroom. The bedroom and bathroom are separated only by glass walls. Such a solution may seem a bit controversial - some of the privacy of the householders is taken away, but the glass can be covered from the room with a heavy and light-impermeable curtain.

The living area of the apartment is a spacious living room connected with the kitchen. From this room there are
large windows and a glass door to the terrace, overlooking a sweeping view of the park and the pond. The apartment was maintained in light colors and minimalist geometry of forms. The architect was keen to maintain the impression of spaciousness and openness, which is emphasized by the selected colors. A uniform, smooth floor was used in all rooms.
The space does not give the impression of being bland - the character is given by dark elements: brown kitchen cabinets, a black marble table and a bottle-green sofa. The kitchen color theme is repeated in the bedroom. It corresponds nicely with the blue of the bathroom walls.
The whole is complemented by numerous potted plants and two English greyhounds lounging on the sofa.
