At first there were Buglo Bubbles - single forms that gave children space to climb and play freely. Over time, however, the idea emerged that a single ball, while attractive, was not living up to its full potential. So the natural step was to look for a way to connect them together. Inspiration came from chemistry - since atoms form structures through bonds, a similar principle can be transferred to playground design.

From this thought came Bubbles Atomiq, a new playground collection from Buglo that connects balls with ropes, bridges, walkways and slides to create an elaborate play system.
The new series includes eight products and new modules. Among them are a freestanding slide entrance and seats near the swing, which designate natural meeting and resting places for children and their caregivers.
Connections between the spheres make children begin to share space, wait their turn, observe others and respond to their actions. Movement remains important, but it ceases to be the sole purpose - interaction emerges.
In such an environment, as cognitive scientist Prof. UAM Dr. Maciej Blaszak notes, key stages in the development of a child's intelligence are triggered. Self-awareness allows one to understand one's own emotions and place in a group. Theory of mind and introspection enable one to see others' perspectives and build relationships. Autobiographical memory organizes experiences and allows lessons to be learned for the future. These processes are not separate from play - they occur when interacting with others.
Bubbles Atomiq from Buglo work like a system of connections: a single ball provides the opportunity for movement, but only transitions between them trigger cooperation, observation and joint decision-making. The nervous system functions similarly, in which a single neuron has limited capabilities, but a network of connections allows you to think, remember and react.
The goal of the collection was to create a space where not only connections are made between devices, but also between people. Relationships, collaboration and shared experiences emerge where space is conducive to being together.
