As they see you, so they write you, the old adage goes. In the case of architecture and urban planning, however, it is not just about superficial opinions, but about something much more important - our comfort, well-being and even health. The question of the role that aesthetics plays in the creation and perception of the space of modern cities has been asked many times, and we got to know different answers and views on this issue during the third day of BUDMA 2026 in Poznań. What will the future of Polish cities look like?

The conversation, moderated by Małgorzata Tomczak, editor-in-chief of Architektura&Biznes magazine, featured people who have a key influence on the appearance of the spaces we live in. Architects and urban planners sought answers to questions about the real impact of architectural competitions on the aesthetic quality of a city, the dangers of globalization inurban design and planning, and about the tools available to cities to influence decisions on the visual layer in architecture and urban planning.

The founder of the Medusa Group studio began the story from Silesia, further moving the audience to other countries in Europe and Asia, and supporting his arguments with both contemporary realizations and those known from the history of architecture.
