High quality of competition works and as many as 5 prizes - we know the winners of LAUFEN competition!

06 of February '26

The prestigious competition "LAUFEN novelties inspire. Create your LAUFEN bathroom concept" delighted with the level of the submitted works, which prompted the jury to award as many as 5 prizes instead of the planned 3, which went to: Magdalena Czerwińska, Agnieszka Kaczmarek, Artemiusz Martyniuk, Nicole Znajmiecka and Karolina Czernik. LAUFEN's novelties, i.e. Meda, Ineo, Pro collection, Cleanet Pro washing toilet, became a perfect base for extremely interesting architectural visions. The winners appreciated them for their high quality, elegance, innovation and functionality.

The competition task was to design a complete - fully thought-out, ergonomic and visually appealing - bathroom using at least one novelty from the LAUFEN brand. Participants created visionary and mature concepts in which LAUFEN products such as the innovative Cleanet Pro washing toilet, Ineo concealed solutions, as well as ceramics, bathtubs and mixers from the Meda collection, for example, play a key role in setting new standards for designing the bathroom as a zone of regeneration and inclusivity. In addition, a guaranteed prize awaited each participant as a thank you for their efforts - a ceramic brush cup from LAUFEN's Home Collection.

Prestigious prizes and audience vote

The works were judged by a competition jury consisting of: Joanna Dec-Galuk - Marketing Director of Roca Polska, Klaudia Bączek - Communication Manager of Roca Polska and Maciej Walejnis - Sales Manager of LAUFEN, according to criteria such as creativity, stylistic consistency and innovation in approach to space. Among the many projects submitted, the Competition Committee's recognition was gained by the arrangement solutions proposed by: Magdalena Czerwińska, Agnieszka Kaczmarek, Artemiusz Martyniuk, Nicole Znajmiecka and Karolina Czernik. Each of the winners received a designer in-kind prize - an IKOS Saphirkeramik ceramic block from the prestigious LAUFEN Home Collection.

In addition to the jury's verdict, an important part of the competition was the audience poll on Instagram. It was there that observers of LAUFEN Poland's profile could directly point to the concept they found most interesting from among the five finalist works. The project of Karolina Czernik won the most likes and shares, for which she received an additional prize - a ceramic tray made of the innovative material Saphirkeramik. Such voting allowed to confront expert visions with the opinions and tastes of a wide audience.

Agnieszka Kaczmarek: an inclusive bathroom with history

A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, combining her work as an architect with years of practice in caring for people with limited mobility, she created a design that is fully ergonomic and inclusive. In her own words: I look at the bathroom as a tool for maintaining independence. So the designer designed an interior that is safe and intuitive, but without the so-called "hospital aesthetic," and fully considered: I consciously refrained from installing visible barriers everywhere. I replaced them with intelligent architecture and an arrangement of equipment that gives support where it is needed, without stigmatizing the space. As a result, the bathroom even looks like a luxurious, but also fully functional, bath salon, as it has both a spa area with a bathtub and a shower adapted for the disabled. He further adds: The uniqueness of this project lies in the fact that its modern, asymmetrical design is not just an aesthetic endeavor, but results directly from the layout of the old installations. Because of the old risers, the author had to look for creative solutions to turn what might seem problematic into an asset. She explains it this way: "Instead of 'stacking' the functions, I created an open plan, in which the modern massing determines the directions of movement. The user doesn't see compromise here, just modern design, even though underneath is engineering tailored to the needs of people with different disabilities. LAUFEN's Meda line was used in the design. Agnieszka Kaczmarek tells about it like this: LAUFEN's MEDA line allowed me to introduce color, which is a modern accent and at the same time a viable navigation. I also chose it because of the ergonomics of the faucet handles, crucial with limited hand dexterity. The PRO tub, on the other hand, became the heart of the spa area, which calms and heals.

Artemius Martyniuk: the bathroom as a space of tranquility

The co-founder of Raav presented a project entitled "Conscious Simplicity." For Artemiusz Martyniuk, the bathroom is one of the most intimate zones in the house, which: should at the same time support efficient morning preparations, as well as enable calming after a busy day, as it serves much more than a sanitary function, as the architect explains. His vision is based on eliminating "visual noise" and betting on intuitive placement of elements, besides: Good lighting, proper acoustics, durable materials and details that enhance daily comfort - from thoughtful storage zones to elements that promote relaxation, such as the temperature of light or the texture of materials - become crucial, he stresses. The designer has created a mini-wellness zone in which simple geometry and a limited color palette build a sense of order. The architect explains that: The concept came from the need to create a space that does not overwhelm the user, but gives him a breath. I was inspired by natural materials, soft light and an architecture that allows you to focus on function instead of excess form. The bathroom arrangement here is based on the principle: "less is better". The design is unique in that it is calming instead of epic. Its strength lies in the fact that each element has a clear purpose, and the whole creates a space that is natural in perception, unforced and timeless," he adds.

Magdalena Czerwinska: an atmospheric bathroom full of light

The owner of the Ińska Design office and winner of European competitions created a design for a bathroom that can be an antidote to haste and excess stimuli. She described her vision as follows: In everyday life we are led by routine. Too often we pass our own space without a glance, as if it were merely a background for things to tick off. And yet, the rhythm of the day is laid out in simple gestures that most often happen right in the bathroom: in waking up in the morning under a stream of water, in a brief moment of breathing between chores, in closing the day in the evening. Light plays a key role in her concept, bringing out the depth of textures and building a moody atmosphere. It's what guides the eye and turns the familiar into something not obvious. Hence the idea for the main accent: an illuminated stone - a detail that not only decorates, but creates a mood, as if the interior breathes more calmly," she explains. The second most spectacular element of the design is a bathtub set on a glass illuminated base, which creates an unusual levitation effect. It's a detail that doesn't scream, but nevertheless attracts attention," she adds. This is because the designer believes that: Uniqueness is not about excess, but about the fact that the interior has its own rhythm and its own story, which one wants to read every day. Magdalena Czerwinska used LAUFEN ceramics and furniture as elegant points of order in the space. She argues her decision like this: This choice was the result of careful matching of the product to the person and to the whole story of the interior. The LAUFEN washbasin cabinet and basin were chosen primarily for their color, shape and workmanship - but also for how they "work" in the space: calmly, elegantly and sensitively. Their form is refined and at the same time expressive enough not to need competition.

Karolina Czernik: a bathroom in harmony with nature

The Politecnico di Milano graduate, with design experience ranging from exhibitions at Milan Design Week 2025 to schools and social projects in Africa, presented a design inspired by the harmony of nature. A contemporary bathroom should combine functionality with emotional comfort, providing privacy and convenience, while creating a cohesive, thoughtful space that gives pleasure, the designer explained. The concept entitled: "Body, Mind, Soul" is based on the juxtaposition of warm clay tones with deep Rosso Levanto stone and light travertine. The biggest challenge was to create a distinct bathing area that at the same time does not overwhelm the interior. I solved this by centrally positioning the bathtub, a double-sided shower and a subtle combination of materials. As a result, the space is comfortable, functional and maintains elegance," she adds. So the architect treated the bathroom as a sequence of experiences where: Every element, from materials to fixtures, is thought out so that the user feels the coherence and balance of the space. In this layout, the focal point of the narrative is the freestanding Meda bathtub and the double-sided shower with Pro shower tray. A Cleanet Pro washing toilet also appears, along with an Ineo Horizon push button. Karolina Czernik argues her choice like this: I chose LAUFEN products for their quality, elegance and consistency of form. The Meda bathtub, washbasin and faucets allow building a minimalist but sensual interior narrative. Cleanet Pro and the Ineo Horizon button introduce modern hygiene and comfort, while blending into the overall design so that each element co-creates a harmonious space.

Nicole Znajmiecka: a cozy bathroom in a dark color palette

The designer and master's degree in civil engineering, representing NZ PROJECT & WNĘTRZE, combined creative passion with solid technical knowledge. In today's world, dominated by haste and the need to act "already," the bathroom also becomes a place of tranquility and regeneration. Therefore, it should be designed to promote relaxation of both body and mind, including through appropriate colors, lighting and placement of accessories - this is how the designer understands the bathroom space. The concept she proposed focused on functionality: The space was designed to give a sense of coziness and intimacy when used alone, while providing comfort and freedom of movement when used by several users at the same time. The functional layout and appropriate proportions promote daily use without a sense of restriction. As a result, the design perfectly addresses the need for comfort in a world dominated by haste. Moreover, she wanted to go beyond her comfort zone, so she designed the bathroom in a dark color scheme. Nicole Znajmiecka, through the use of LAUFEN products in a matte black finish, created a distinctive "frame" of the interior, which she broke with chrome fittings and dynamic lighting. This is how she argues her choice: The main design consideration was the use of black fixtures and finishes. The products from LAUFEN's portfolio perfectly fit into this concept, both aesthetically and qualitatively, providing a solid basis for building a coherent and expressive arrangement.
The competition attracted the attention of a wide range of talented artists, who impressed with their creativity and commitment. Its success confirms the direction in which Polish interior design is developing - towards emphatic and technically mature design. The partnership with LAUFEN has made it possible to create visions in which design really improves living comfort.
