Build your own Warsaw! Urban cutout for Children's Day

01 of June '20

For the youngest and lovers of DIY (do-it-yourself) works, the Art in the City Foundation and Ghelamco have prepared a gift for Children's Day - an I Love Warsaw cut-out. All you need is paper, glue and scissors to create your own three-dimensional city puzzle!

The drawings for the cutout were prepared by illustrator Olin Gutowski, who has been working with the foundation since 2016. The set includes dozens of objects, figures and other elements that co-create the urban fabric of the capital, as well as different variants of the street grid, which will allow for free play in creating diverse city layouts. In addition to historical buildings, such as the PAST edifice, the Mermaid monument in Powiśle and the fountain in the Saxon Garden, the game can also make use of contemporary structures that Ghelamco is behind the construction of.

Users will be able to use a ready-made set of colorful elements or choose a black and whiteset, which can be finished with any drawing or painting technique. The city can take on a variety of sizes and forms, its three-dimensionality and multidirectional nature are all the more interesting to me, as I normally realize my work in the form of finished, flat drawings," says cartoonist Olin Gutowski, author of the cutout.

The work has been adapted to the current conditions - the entire set has been made available electronically, to print, prepare and play with yourself, in two color variants: black and white and color.
